I ran mine ignition only for awhile and I feel that really made the switch over to fuel control that much easier.

Can you repost the pictures of your coil spring installation, they have gone missing. I thint they should have been on May 12, 2012.

Sure. I've done it several times since then. Same procedure. Stick spring in press, compress slowly, loop wire in 2 places vertically and snugly around a couple of coils, wrap end of wire around the wrap bundles. Let off slowly. Wire is just some bailing wire gauge stuff. The spring will rebound a little, but it should be short enough to go back in without trouble. Once it is wired, handle it with reasonable care. It is actually pretty inert unless you do something really dumb. People think if the wire breaks, it is going to shoot off like a rocket and fly around the shop. lol That won't happen. I will smash you hand if were to break when your hand was between the end and something solid, but it's not gonna shoot around knocking out windows and denting the beer fridge by any means. haha.

Well, that was a short first trip. Went 2 blocks, started sputtering like it was running out of fuel, got it almost turned around and it died. Still have blinky led's (3 of the spark outputs) when cranking. Have fuel pressure, MS settings are all still correct. I will check for cranking spark and will diagnose further this evening.

By the orange paint I guess your press came from HF or some other similar store. Did you get the 12 or 20 ton. Opinions? Is the larger capacity press worth the extra shop space the other 99% of the time?

It's a 20 ton I think. Worth it? I can't really answer that because I got this one for free!

Good price! Mine is a 12 ton 'cause I went cheap. If I knew I'd want to bend 1/4" plate (see the scatter shield build) I'd have popped for the extra 8 tons. One of these days I'll weld the frame together as it flexes under a big load.

Well after work I messed with it some. Checked some simple things and cranked it and it ran for a couple of minutes and acted normal. Then started losing spark and then it died. Wouldn't start. Carb checks out ok. I even slipped a power valve plug in the primary side just in case the Pv was blown and was gushing fuel. No dice. I got it to start again a little later. Same thing. Run, then the tach starts bouncing and it dies. Crank crank crank, but by then the battery was getting weak and I needed to go do other stuff. Almost seems like something may be warming up and losing contact. I am going to pull the MS out and looks the board over close for cold or missing solder joints. Same for the igniter. Maybe I horked something up when I was working on them.

On a different note, I bought a usb-c to USB adapter for my phone and successfully connected it to the MS using MSDroid. Super cool to be able to tune, and data log using just my phone!!
