AOD is in. Twice, because apparently you have to take the T5's pilot bearing out in order for the converter snout to index into the crank properly. Haha. Whodathunkit?? Lol. Second time was much easier.

We are going to have to tweak the downpipe as kt is pointed at the trans pan right now.

Oh and if you are ever thinking of using the 1" offset to the rear engine mount slots in your aftermarket K-member.... DO NOT DO IT. They make getting to the trans bolts a meeeeellion times harder.

YUP! Oh man, I forgot about that... lol. I earned that t-shirt the same way and the big cut off bolt is still in the tool box, probably still greasy. Tell me there's an easier way?

Grease is the word. We used a cut off BBF cylinder head bolt! Great minds!

Wow. Ordered a Lokar tv cable yesterday from Summit, and it shows up this morning.

Shifter cable is in, Lokar tv cable is in on the trans side and I started taking stuff apart to swap intakes. Pulled the carb and was very pleased at how clean the intake was inside. The throttle cable mount is going to have to change and I will need to fab a mount for the tv cable.

Apparently the IAT sensor I used did not like gasoline. The element is completely gone. Might explain why we lost IAT logging! Haha.

Ahh, there's the picture that would have kept me from asking bracket question. LOL. It looks nice!

IAT Oops! ... Something to get stuck in the cat if it had them, glad it didn't hang on a valve. They are terribly fragile looking to start with.

For all the guys saying dual plane distribution problems, that plenum divider is cut down pretty good. I may have missed that before.

Yeah, it is cut down and I had a 1" open spacer under the carb, so there was a considerable open plenum space under the carb. But the AF mixture still has to make some interesting turns in order to get to the intake valves.

Intake is off! Motor looks good inside. Intake ports are clean. Just need to scrape some rtv and then we can slam the new one on.

The short valve covers make it look really tall!

Starter and driveshaft are in but not without issues. The plate I bought that goes between the block and bellhousing was poorly made. When I put it in I had to use a rat tailed file on the dowel pin holes. Never expected the starter hole to be a wee bit too small. I had to get the die grinder and carbide burr out to open up the hole ever so slightly. It wasn't off by much, but the starter dang sure would not fit in like it should.

I also decided to revise the downpipe to stay away from the much fatter transmission. Just need to finish weld and rewrap with header wrap.

Downpipe is finish welded. Judd and I worked on getting the neutral switch, reverse lights and line lock all wired up. While he was reinstalling the console and reconnecting the shifter, I worked on transmission lines and mounting the transmission cooler. Getting closer!

Wrapped the downpipe and installed it. Not my favorite job, but it's done.
