so what does it take to get you a low 1.4 up there with Telstar? It's hiking the front end pretty twisted, would a big-ass rear swaybar do anything for that? It didn't look like it was spinning wildly when I saw it?
I'm coming up with about 80 hp loss for the extra 3000 feet of elevation between there and Ennis, is that realistic? Holy crap man!Last edited by Beagle; October 22, 2012, 08:24 PM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Yeah. That's about what Casey usually figures.
It definitely has a 1.4x in it up here, just need to work on leveling out the launch. Right now I am leaning towards an air bag (actually one on each side so I can get level out the car when loaded) and a set of Strange shocks. If that does not do the trick, I will move on to more severe tactics.
One of my major goals for this car is for it to be fast, but not require a ton of work at the track to get it there or screw up the street-ability of it. Dropping the exhaust at the track would probably drop some ET, as would ripping out the HVAC stuff out of the dash, but I don't really want to have to resort to that. I want my cake and eat it too.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I have an airbag from the kitty killer, but don't think it will fit inside the coil spring. Are you wanting to replace the coil or supplement it? You're welcome to one of the bags. There were a couple of newer ones on it that should have lifetime warranty.
3.5" available from Flowtech for 58.00 apiece seems high but you could hang that off the end of the collector?Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Those electric ones are pricey.
Might put some exhaust dumps in it. Seems to work ok for the hot rodders.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I'm telling ya - it's hard to beat the warlocks - no additional joints in the system to leak, three wing nuts per side and you're open. only down side I can see is you have more pipe before the opening than if you put cut outs up close to the collectors.... for most of our cars would that make a measurable difference? There's always something new to learn.

I put a 2.5" cut out in the Y pipe between the cats and the muffler on my Mark VIII and picked up 2 mph at Maxton

Ok the current plan for the winter:
1. Dual airbags
2. Strange adjustable rear shocks
3. Upgrade to a 1050 Dominator, maybe a 1150, but I think a 1050 would be a better fit for the elevation I normally run at.
4. *maybe* a fiberglass hood
5. *maybe* install exhaust cutoutsLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

What about a gear vendor UNDER drive? 20% under would put you 126 ish at 6500 with a 28" tire? It seems happy with slicks now, did you ever get a chance to run them with the 3.90's?
I'm not sure uncorking it would be enough, but dropping the system back of the headers would be a pretty good weight loss too. More hassle than I would be willing to do on a regular basis but maybe just for that "hero run" !Last edited by Beagle; October 26, 2012, 08:52 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

It's 3315 w/o me. At least that's what the scale at Topeka said.
The air bag should do the trick. Just air up the pass side bag. Combine it with a shock I can adjust and I think it will work fine. Not ready to put an anti-roll bar under it just yet. I want the dual bags so I can air both sides up when loaded with people or on DW.
I never ran it with the slicks and 3.90's. Kinda like an arb and exhaust cutouts, swapping back is always an option. I'd rather try easy things first. hahaLast edited by BBR; October 26, 2012, 09:07 AM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Maybe its just the Engineer in me but I really don't understand how they get off calling an overdrive an underdriveLast edited by Russell; October 26, 2012, 12:03 PM.
