Under the dash is got to be the last place I want to work on a car. Drop the column pull the dash pad see if you get to the four Bolts holding to the fire wall. Pull the whole assembly. The auto ones are not bad the fourth bolt is behind the clutch pedal. As I recall, you milage my very.

Not yet, but the old master is out of the way now and I figured out how to route the brake lines I need to make. There is going to be a ton of room over there now!
Easier plug and valve cover access! Whoo hoo!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

True but if he doesn't like the feel he may want to make the pin move mod. If he does, it maybe easier/ better to remove the whole assembly than just the pedal. But that can be difficult as well. I would drive it as is if its safe.

It will certainly work without moving the pin...........but it will require lots of pedal effort with not much decelleration for the effort.
Has caused many to make the move to fancy aftermarket brakes, when all that was needed was to change the pedal ratio, by moving the pin. In fact, that is the basis for many of the big dollar aftermarket setups - fancy parts and a different pedal arm (which by the way has the pin moved)
I'm interested to follow along James!Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

I'm interested too, I run manual disks on two of mine, and it did take some fiddling to get them right. Pedal ratio is even more dramatic than bore sizeMy fabulous web page

I understand that the smaller bore and the increased pedal ratio make it easier to push the brake, but over all does that not reduce the amount of fluid going to the brakes per inch of brake pedal movement, reducing braking potential, extream case would be pedal on the floor and not enough fluid going to the brakes? But I guess that is less likely than not being able to push the firm pedal?

You'd have to have a really high pedal ratio (or small bore mc) for that to be a problem. With a "comfortable" pedal effort, the pedal is still at least half way up off the floor under full braking forceMy fabulous web page

Update:
I suck at bending brake lines.

Ok, brake lines are finished.
I had a heckuva time double flaring that green coated brake line. I finally took a file and cleaned the coating off so the flaring tool could get a bite. That combined with the fact I have a hard time remembering to put the fittings on BEFORE I double flare them left me having to make one line twice. Oh well it's done.
Now all that's left is to bleed the m/c and connect it to the brake pedal and hope I don't have to tear into everything to modify the pedal. Fingers crossed.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

could be worse - you could remember the fitting and then make a perfect flare and then realize the fitting was on backwards.
here's hoping you're done with it! Of course, I'll check this thread next year and it'll have a hydroboost setup. lol.Last edited by Beagle; August 16, 2013, 02:55 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.
