Yeah mine is that way to. I added timing at idle but anything that is very much off of idle goes flat. I might have my dad mess with it on drag week and see how it responds on the road.

I am going to watch it at steady cruise and try to bump up the cells to mimic how a vacuum advance works.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Brian Rock had a really nice spark only MS1 tune on his 496 Poncho. Might be worth a look if he see's this. My mean bests timing is 26* but I have cells as high as 40 for certain part throttle, light load, low KPA settings.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?

Loaded up the trailer and ran out to the track Friday evening. Weather was threatening, so I almost didn't go. But, Judd really had his heart set on it so I thought what the heck.
Car ran very good for the first time running the 3.90's and new ignition. 10.65 is the best it has ever run in Amarillo. The 1.51 60' was probably the best ever in Amarillo too. Ignition worked flawless. I am very very happy with it. We only got 2 passes in before we decided we were about to get soaked, but I datalogged both runs so I have some good info to play with. The second run was a 10.66 with a 1.53 60, but it was a semi-hot lap and it had a lean hiccup right at the hit that even shows up in the log. I bumped the timing up 2 degrees while waiting in the staging lanes before that run. I think the hiccup was the result of heat soak from not having an adequate cool down time between passes. I don't know what the DA was but I suspect it was not very good considering the approaching storm. This cowl hood seems to trap more heat in than the old setup did. It also seems to reflect more engine noise back to the passenger area.
The evening was not issues. Forgot my breaker bar and Jonathan (JWS4621) gassed it back to his house and brought a bar and his cordless impact. This delayed us for a while. Driver's side slick got into the back edge of the fender and ground a small groove in it. This was a result of me extending the lower arms a little to much when I had the diff out last time. I will shorten them up a little (and even them up... one was 0.25" longer than the other... oops.) and hopefully this will not be an issue ever again.
Overall a good night though. Just as I pulled it into the garage, the clouds opened up and the rains came!

Last night I watched the videos that Judd took. He was to the left of Jonathan and had more of a side view of the car. In his, you can see the front tire just off the ground in both videos. The rear suspension seems to be doing it's thing real nice. It doesn't squat or extend. It just stays pretty neutral the whole time.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Screenshot of the rpm log of the first pass. Initial converter stall is at 5300. The first peak is right a 7000 with no indication of nosing over. The second peak and finish line peak are both 6600. The dips at the shifts are ~6100 so the 1-2 dip is 900 rpm and the 2-3 is only 500. I think that second dip should be closer to the first, so I may make my 2-3 shift at 7000 and see if it picks up any. I'm only in 2nd for about 2 seconds! The shift light is actually set to 6500, but its really hard to nail the 1-2 right at 6500!
I may log the phone's accelerometer next time out and see what it reveals.

Leaving this here so I can find it again.

This is a trick to vent boiling fuel vapor that can accumulate is the accelerator pump. (Like running winter blend gas in the summer) You drill a tiny hole to allow vapor to escape back into the fuel bowl.
