Well it was good night. Car ran great, resistor plugs was the fix. Weather was cool, wind was low. The goal for the night was to make some passes with the "100hp" tune in it and just get a feel for what this thing wants.
Made a motor pass just to get a baseline. 10.71 @127. That's about what it normally runs here on motor.
Loaded the N2O timing table and made some passes to datalog. Car ran awesome. A 10.29 @ 132 was the beat pass, so this "100" shot is more like a 60 shot on a 552" motor. Haha. I kept tagging the rev limiter at the top of first. 1.46 was the best 60 of the night, but I aborted because it pulled toward the centerline and I almost smoked a timing block. On the 10.29 pass, it went 1.51. I still think this thing needs a transbrake to maximize it's potential.
Overall a good night of learning and hanging with friends. It ran about like it does on motor in Noble so it should run 9's easy there. Nine's at elevation are just around the corner.Last edited by BBR; July 8, 2017, 08:52 AM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I just ran it by the old NOS chart. 42n 53f Figured that was a safe place to start for a noob. 33 deg timing, AFR was pretty rich for about the first 1.5 seconds (11.0), then settling at 12.0-12.5 for the rest of the run. DA was 5200-5300 feet, running 91 octane pump gas.
I'll mess with reading plugs next time out.

As I'm an N2O noob too, I can't help but notice the wide disparity in the N/F ratios posted by Quick 52 and BBR, Monty's suggested and NOS chart. What fuel pressure are you running James?
In September we'll be using a modest dry system shot with fogger nozzles and getting the base starting point is confusing to me.
I do have some highly qualified help, but I like to understand what I'm doing. MS3X progressive controller with NOS high current solid state relays to control the N2O solenoid.Last edited by CDMBill; July 11, 2017, 07:25 AM.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?

The old NOS charts are well know to be fat. I read many posts on YB from Monte stating that fact and that if you swapped the fuel and n20 jets, you'd really be much closer to right. The conventional wisdom seems to be about an 8 point drop between N & F which is sorta backwards from the old NOS chart. However, I chose to play it safe and then move on from there. That being said, I was very happy with the AFR datalogs, so much that I may stick to the old NOS chart for now. My FP is at 5lbs.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

At the track, the Mustang was kinda hard to start and was running a little warmer than normal... I go out to the shop this afternoon and see this. I wonder how long the alternator belt as been missing?!?!?! The electric water pump and electric fan would probably work much better with full voltage!

A nice tuning tool to have is a flow gauge.. IS sells a very nice one try to flow the carb and nitrous at the same time if you are on one pump if nitrous has a separate pump just flow nitrous.. I use the 6' elevation method for G force you don't want to low on fp 5.5 6.0 for the nitrous and what you like for carb.Last edited by quick 52; July 12, 2017, 11:14 AM.Drag week 2009 Quickest street rod

I decided to swap back to the old hood. The cowl was ok, it's light and looks pretty nice, but it really seems to trap heat a lot more heat in the summer. I'll leave this one on for a while and if it works ok, I'll just leave it and sell the cowl. I kinda missed the unique look of the Mopar hemi scoop on a Mustang. Haha

A crazy though popped into my head the other day and I can't seem to shake it.
That is: Swap entire drivetrain into nanner (yellow truck) and put a small block / T5 into the Mustang. With a little N2O of course.
This would create several favorable situations for me.
1. Make the truck faster. (I really really dig it if you have not noticed.)
2. Relieve the sense of stagnation/boredom with the Mustang.
3. Give Jake a project to play with without having to purchase another car. He has expressed a desire to have a project car in which he performs the majority of the work himself. (The truck was primarily me with him helping.)
4. Truck has more room for turbos. (heh heh)
Am I crazy or just a hot rodder? haha
