Prelim results: Interesting. I drove it around the parking lot a few times and it *maybe* still did it? However it did not seem nearly as pronounced as before. The test drive was kinda rushed because I had to be somewhere, so I think I will drive it more before passing final judgement.

Oh yeah, still does it. Drove it longer today and it definitely still has the stutter.
Stupid thing died on me about a 1/4 mile from the office. Battery was too weak to start it. Walked to the shop, got the work truck, came back, lit right off, drove to shop, walked back to work truck. Blah. I hate cars.
So, I pulled the HEI and Duraspark distributor back off and put it back the way it was. Sort of. I put it back, verified that it would start and run and then switched the codebase from TFI to MSnS (Megasquirt n Spark). Supposedly with the TFI codebase, the MS defaults to letting the TFI module set the dwell. I am only using the module as a pickup and my intent was to have the MS set the dwell. Not sure if it ever was or not but using the MSnS it definitely will. I switched that and it cranked up and worked. Seemed to idle better so maybe it is working better. Lol.Life is short. Seems to idle better, but pretty much runs the same. Starting to think more seriously about converting to EFI. I could continue to jack with this carb ad infinitum trying to make it run like EFI, or I could just use the Megasquirt that is already in the car to do it's thing. I have a stand alone EEC harness, the stuff to quickly make an EEC to MS adapter, 2 different 4bbl throttle bodies and injectors. The car has a return reg in it and so all I *really* need is a set of rails, a high pressure pump and a set of intake gaskets because I would have to pull the intake and drill the injector bungs.
The rub is that I would want it working properly by the Buick v. Ford shootout in October.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I pulled the stand alone harness out of the box, looked at it for a few minutes and realized the only things I really need to add are the tps, right and left bank injectors, and a coolant temp sensor. Literally 5 new connections to the MS. Haha.
Went home and found the wiring harness for the original BBR. I used it way back in 2008/2009 with the MS1 that is now in the yellow truck. It has everything I need with just a few extras. I'm beginning to wonder why I haven't already done this. Haha.

I took that harness and weeded out the stuff I didn't need and traced/labeled wires. Only took about 45 minutes.

Went up to the shop to start the harness install and ended up with the intake off the engine. Lol. It had to come off to drill the bungs but I wasn't expecting to do it today. Haha.

Underhood wiring is all done. Gaskets are scraped. Bung holes and rail mount holes are marked on the intake. Fuel pressure gauge changed, Fuel line routing is currently being planned.
Gotta come up with a good, repeatable way to drill the bungs. Might have to make something to let me slide it back an forth under the benchtop drill press.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

The bungs are just vertical bosses cast into the intake. I have drilled intakes for weld-in bungs several times. That's no big deal because you then position the bungs and weld/epoxy them in place. This intake needs to be a little more precise since I will be drilling the actual injector mounting hole/surface.
Since the holes will be on the outboard edge of the intake, I have to come up with a way to stabilize/secure the intake so it does not try to dip or lean when applying drill pressure. These holes will only be sealing intake vacuum/pressure so they are not as critical as ones sealing 50 psi of fuel pressure. Nevertheless,I would like them to be done well.

Yea! Fuel rails! These are made for this intake so they should fit correctly. Honestly, I was on the fence about doing this efi conversion until I realized this fuel rail kit was becoming out of stock everywhere. I was afraid it was going to be discontinued and I wouldn't be able to get a kit that fits and is very inexpensive. So, I grabbed one and here we are.
