After multiple restarts, and updates, I think I have it fixed now.

Monkeyed with it a bit Friday. Got the base timing set, and got it idling better.
Today I put a new battery in it. The old one has been around since the big block was in this car and it also did some time in the truck. It has been charged a zillion times and was just flat worn out. Popped a new one in it and man it starts goooood now!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I think nope. Mainly because E85 is scarcer than hen's teeth around here. Which is somewhat surprising seeing that we have 3 ethanol plants withing 80 miles of here.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Today I took it for It's maiden voyage around the parking lot a few times.
And holy cow it seems to run so much smoother it is ridiculous. I just did some short part throttle rolls and the motor accelerates nice without any stuttering or hesitation. It's low on gas so I didn't goof around much I was afraid it might run out in the parking lot. Haha.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Once the EFI idea-seed was planted, it was inevitable that I would end up there. In the end, I just decided that while I could continue to jack with the carb to get it to work (basically trial and error) I would eventually end up at efi anyway. Might as well cut my losses, pass GO and collect my $200.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

So I guess driving it to my house was a bit premature. Ended up on the business end of the tow strap behing the Durango. It shut off twice on me and was not running very good. Not sure what the problem is, but the oil smells like fuel so I think an (or multiple) injectors were not working properly. I'll monkey with it after an oil change.

I have been there. Did you get a data log when it was acting up? After pulling the injectors and testing them (they were good) I reviewed the log and the numbers of several of the sensors were out of range that pointed me to look for my wiring problem that had the sensor voltage shorted out.
I would have saved a ton of time if I would have liked at the log first.

I turned logging on, but the only data it logged was the data from my phone. Location, speed, etc.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I don't think the injector is bad. I played around with it and it it clicks and does not seem to leak when the injectors are unplugged and the pump is on.
By having the injectors and fuel pump on a switch separate from the megasquirt, I think I have unwittingly created a scenerio where, if the pump is on and the MS is unpowered, one bank (or both) of the injectors can be "on". Injectors have a constant 12v to them and the MS just grounds them to fire. I may need to wire it so that the MS controls power to everything like it is supposed to.Life is short.
