What kind of balancer do you have on it? I read on the internet (so it has to be true) a good balancer can help them live a little longer.

Injectors are in. They seat lower in the manifold than the old style fat body injectors so the brackets need to be modified a skosh.

I drilled new holes in the brackets and everything is good now! No leaks!
Set the injector parameters in Tuner Studio, and it fired right up. Whoo hoo.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Sometimes I feel like I am playing Whack-a mole. I was chasing a no start when hot situation and discovered that my alternator voltage would climb and climb and climb while the car was running. 18v +. I was already playing with the idea of swapping to a different alternator because I doubted the ability of the stock 60 amp alternator to keep up with demand. As a check, I changed the regulator but that did not change anything. Voltage at the battery just kept creeping up up up. The 3g was an easy swap. I used the 95 amp version and it fit perfect and now voltage is very stable.

Hot start has been a problem after the injector swap. I finally figured out what I did. I had cranking rpm too low. I was thinking the cranking rpm was the rpm the MS has to see in order to fire the injectors. I was wrong. It is the rpm where the MS switches from the priming table to the VE table. Raised it back to 300 and bumped up the priming time a little and we have reliable hot restart!

Compounding the hard hot restart problem was the fact it would barely turn over when the motor was warm. I checked A LOT of things, and finally swapped the solenoid to starter canle and poked a new starter in it. I don't know which one fixed it, bit it spins over FAST now. Probably was the starter because I think it was the original one from 1983.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

mine was doing the slow spin.. bushings and brushes cured it.
