Whoo hoo we are registered for Rocky Mountain Race Week!!! (The whole reason for this build)
It was a crazy day. Registration was supposed to go live at 10am central. The high traffic immediately crashed their servers. They called a time out and said it would be back up at 12pm central. Crashed again. Then they said message them and they would manually register everyone in the order they received them. Got a message about 30 mins ago saying we were in. Wheeeew!

March!!
But the interstate behind our shop is open 24/7. Haha.
A $127 GT45 is a pretty darn good bang for your buck. More than enough turbo to compromise a stock block 302!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I was going to say get one of those gps drag apps / boxes. But the more I think about it that could end up being self incriminating.
I have to make a plan, I have to stick to the plan, I have to work my plan! I am always thinking about step 10 instead of working on step 2.

Oh boy this thing is fun. Judd and I went up to the shop today and did some driving and datalogging. First though, we had to put some gas in it because it literally had none. Drove it to the station and it ran like it was on 4 cylinders. Filled it up (15.7 gallons!) and went back to figure out why. We messed around with several things to no avail then decided to start pulling plugs. We did 5-8 first because they are easy and they looked fine. Went straight to #4 because it is the hardest and found that the plug boot was not on the plug good. Haha. Fixed that, still didn't run right. Came back, and to no surprise, 1 and 2 were the same situation. Lol. We feex.
Jumped in, started the laptop and went out to the access road to log some data. It went really well and we did a few short WOT pulls. Motor seems happy, oil pressure and water temps were stable. The IAT is interesting on a blowthru! Boost comes in and it starts dropping. Our cruise afr was around 13.5 and WOT was low 12's. I might drop the primaries a couple or four and up the secondaries 6 or so. Part throttle with boost coming in really goes lean, but that's understandable.
Took some vids snd will upload later.

Looking at it last night, it was *supposed* to see ~18 degrees at WOT, but the data logs show it dropping to 10 at 5500 rpm. I was like "what is going on??" Then I realized 5500 is what the soft rev limiter is set to and it forces the timing to a fixed 10 degrees. I will have to bump that up.
I may have to resize my timing table a little because it stops at 160kpa and 6000rpm and I have data logged a little past both. Haha.
Boost shows to be building like a centrifugal supercharger. Ramping up with rpm to an 8 psi peak.

Made all the changes to the Megasquirt last night so it should be good to go. I watched the datalogs play for quite a while yesterday evening. I sure wish it would playback motor noises. It would be much more entertaining. Haha. I want to add way more timing in the off-boost or cruise areas. Currently it is in the high 20's but really should be in the mid 30's. I'm gonna creep up on it though.
I will wait a bit for the carb changes.
Air filter, and exhaust parts (bends, pipe, Y pipe for a cutout) showed up today so we can get busy finishing up the exhaust very soon.

Jammed the filter on it! The brand is Green Filter, which should be somewhat obvious.
