  • Haha, maybe.....

My AEM wideband has developed a mind of it's own at night. For some reason it automatically changes it color at random. It'll be white, then red, then blue, back to red, etc etc etc. Today it was going red blue red blue red blue like a cop car and it was freaking me out.

Another thing that was freaking me out today was the sun shining in the back window on the shift light and making me think the shift light was on. haha

Water temp on the highway (and track) has been super consistent. It has taken a couple of days to build up confidence in this thing, because after all, I know exactly who screwed it all together, but man I am digging it!

I am so happy with the car, I treated it to a nice clean air filter.

Where is the LIKE button? This sounds so fantastic. Wish I was there.

              • YEEEESSSSSSSS 10.56 @ 127.38!!!!! 1.47 60 foot!!! Went up 1/2 pound of air in the passenger tire and it launched straight and FLEW down the track. I got to race CDMBill on that pass so it was even more fun (even though he smoked me) to have the #1 & #2 guys in the class duking it out.... sorta.

My hands were shaking for 30 minutes after. It was a helluva ride!!!!!!!!

                          • it's cooling down now - 108* weather is tough to drive around more when you're supposed to reflect a Suit personna at work.

I bet it gets more miles now.

                            • The car performed great all week. I could not be happier with how the week went. I knew I was glass ceiling'd at 10.00 and Bill's car is legal for 9's, so instead of trying to squeeze every last tenth out of it, I just decided to play defense and maintain my position in second ahead of the silver 55 Chevy. Highest engine temp I saw was 210 and it normally cruised down the road at about 200. This was my biggest worry coming into the week that the car would not cool on the road. The electric stuff worked great and would bring it right back down to 185 when we hit stop and go traffic. As soon as the sun went down, it would drop to 190 on the road. Very very happy.

I really wanted to run a GM vs. the World race this weekend, but have had ZERO time to work on the car since DW. Oil needs to be changed, and I need to pull the carb and heli-coil all 8 of the bowl screws. I am 99.9% sure I stripped another one in Gilliam, so I did not touch them the rest of the week for fear of starting a leak.

After seeing how well it ran at the lower tracks, I am seriously considering putting a 1050 or 1150 Dominator on it. It really likes air.... lots of it. haha I've also been looking at ARB's or airbags. Each has it's ups and downs, but it definitely needs something to level out the launch. There's probably at least another 5-7 hundredth's in the 60 foot, just from not dragging that passenger slick in the wheel well every time.

Overall the car was very easy on me aside from the initial transmission worry. Pull into track, unload, change tires, remove air filter, unplug vacuum advance, check fluids, change diaper, pop valve cover breathers on (ran evacs on the road), and head to the staging lanes. Very user friendly.

Oh yeah.... I LOVE MY T-TOPS!!!

                              • How do you store the T-tops when they are out? I've been wondering on that one...........replacements can be pricey. Seems just tossing them in the back is just asking for trouble.
