You still doing 30 minutes a day at lunch? What's the verdict on the carb hat? Buy or build?

It's usually 30-45 after work before I go home, but yeah I try to fiddle a little each day.
Carb hat: Probably buy. I researched about building one, but the consensus was you can end up with big time uneven distribution if you don't know what you are doing. I don't, so I will probably use the Spectre one that Roadkill used on the Rotsun.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Forgot about the WP pulley bolt circle difference. We modified a stock serpentine pulley on my buddy's standard rotation RX7 (5.0).
The 80s CV comes with a ribbed WP pulley if you're out hunting.1997 Ranger 5.0L HO, GT40 heads/tubular intake, 65mm TB, 1.7rr, B303, Tri-Y headers, dual 2.5" exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, T5 trans, Tri-Ax shifter, CenterForce Dual Friction clutch, 8.8 Traction Lok 3.55 gears, Cobra 13" front brakes, Cobra 11.65" rear discs.

Pump just arrived. I was surprised to see that the std rotation bolt pattern is actually smaller than the reverse rotation. The center register snout is the same size and the pump offest is the same, so I will just pop the pulley in the drill press and poke 4 new holes.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Judd had some free time so he came up yesterday and took all the nitrous stuff off that was in the engine bay. Wiring, hoses, plate, solenoids, etc.
I was going to order just a Spectre hat for $107, then saw that I could order Spectre part no. 747 that includes the polished hat, a 90° pipe, silicone sleeve and clamps from Amazon or Walmart.com for only $6 more. AND I saved 3 more bucks by having it shipped to my local WM store for pickup. I may not use the pipe, but hey, I essentially got it for nothing. lol Running total so far including water pump is $606

Judd finished bolting the k-member in and started getting the fuel lines and reg relocated. The reg would have been right next to the down pipe. Then we tried to swap valve covers so that the vent filter was on the opposite side. No workie. Well, it could workie, but the filter and wiring loom would be crammed against the firewall. If nothing, it gave us a chance to take a peek under the valve covers and see if everything looked ok.

Ignition is my current area of focus.
We currently have a Duraspark distributor triggering a GM HEI module firing a Ford TFI coil. It has worked great. In keeping with the low-buck theme of this, I am thinking of using a 5 pin HEI that provides 5 degrees of retard when activated. I actually just ordered 2 of the modules from Rockauto for $7.50 each. They are usually triggered by a hobbs switch that senses boost pressure so I will need to source one of those. Should not be too difficult I imagine.Life is short.
