Hood will get modified before anything else. lol One reinforcing rib may need to be notched. No biggie. This hood has been chopped, trimmed and hammered plenty already.

I flipped the 90 degree tube, shortened it, and shortened up the 45 degree tube. That allowed me to rotate the hat inlet to get the tubes away from the alternator. I am very happy with how it wraps around and still allows distributor access. The only drawback thus far is the fact the compressor outlet hits the reinforcing rib on the underside of the hood. We will have to do some trimming.
Running total = $794 - includes the ignition box which wasn't 100% necessary, but will be nice to have. The only thing really left to purchase is exhaust tubing for the down pipe. If I was a trendy fellow, I would just cut a hole in the hood and point it up. I don't think I will do that.

Nothing super exciting about this but it is one more step closer to the goal. I trimmed a generic Chevy alternator adjustment arm and finished the alternator install.

I'm good with inter-mixing of parts. Earl's outside mirrors are from a Ford van........and the color is from Chrysler. For that matter, the coupe wears a GM paint code.......hahahaaaa............Ed, Mary, & 'Earl'

Time vs money. Here I am reminding you that you own a welder Gasket for a pattern, plate steal, cut to shape. Get some tube that is close to the hose you want to use. Weld tube to plate, weld bead around tube end to keep hose from slipping off. If it needs an angle pie cut tub weld more tube on. Looks simple from NC. But not sure it that will help with finding a hose but it looked like going over the turbo and cold side would hit the hood. What's that saying your mpg may differ?

Maybe. I go have a buddy with a cnc plasma. I could prob get him to cut one out the shape of the gasket.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Size the tube before you cut the plate? Is the hole for the thermostat bigger than the tube for the hose?
Cut off wheel, and a drill bit. If you don't need a thermostat drill a smaller hole in the plate as a restricter. If the hole is small you can off set it to get better clearance. Who said they had to be concentric?

A little more progress this evening. Ignition box is mounted and wired up, alternator is close to being wired up, voltage regulator was relocated so it does not get barbecued by the turbine housing, fuel lines finished, fuel reg and fuel pressure gauge mounted.
I started eyeballing the downpipe, but I was tired so I went home.
On a side note, I got a lithium battery for my drill and impact for my bday. I finally got to try it out on my Ryobi impact this evening as I was changing an upper control arm on one of our work truck Tundras. It is ridiculous how much more powerful it is now. It busted every nut loose that I used it on. Night and day difference vs. the nicad battery packs.

Started on the downpipe. It is 3" and that is about as big as I can fit in the space it needs to go, plus I already have some 3" tubing. I feel it is plenty big for the intended power level we are shooting for.
It will be wrapped with header wrap to keep it from bāking the plug wires and fuel lines.

I trick on wrapping w/header wrap - I picked this up at EPA where we frequently had to wrap hot stuff. There is a high temp electrical tape that is basically Fiberglass tape with some sort of high temp glue. So you wrap the header wrap then over wrap with the tape and everything stays in place and it has a neat appearance. The tape is white but bakes to a uniform goldish color. Pretty sure there are pics in my build thread but I'll see if the Forum will let me repost them....
It did! Here it's wrapped with the header wrap and tape but it's not baked in yet. The lump is the bellows to let it flex.
