I don't think the injector is bad. I played around with it and it it clicks and does not seem to leak when the injectors are unplugged and the pump is on.
By having the injectors and fuel pump on a switch separate from the megasquirt, I think I have unwittingly created a scenerio where, if the pump is on and the MS is unpowered, one bank (or both) of the injectors can be "on". Injectors have a constant 12v to them and the MS just grounds them to fire. I may need to wire it so that the MS controls power to everything like it is supposed to.
Yeah lol. I changed the oil today but had to order the Wix 51335 filter for it. It will be here tomorrow. The oil was pretty bad.
Before the tow, I turned on the pump and fuel was was leaking out around the manifold side of the #1 injector. Yikes.
All I need to do is run a wire from the existing switch to the fuel pump pin on the MS. That will let the MS control everything like it is supposed to.
Well, it ended up being more than just one little simple rewire. I ended up having to rewire three relays because I was having trouble with relays pulsating and latching and causing all kinds of electronic weirdness. The relays are all now wired like the MS schematics show and everything works as it should.
Bonus is my new laptop battery arrived so now I can use autotune! Whoo hoo!
Let it idle in the shop and warm up. Shut the hood and drove around the parking lot for several laps. Started having ecu resets so I went back to the shop. Popped the hood and started it back up. Everything was fine. Let it run for a long while it was fine. Closed the hood and started getting resets after a minute or two and the engine dies.... What changed??? I closed the hood..... what the heck? Popped the hood, cranked it up and it ran perfectly. Closed the hood, starts having resets and dies.
So for some reason that I don't understand yet, the hood being closed is causing electical noise that is making the Megasquirt reboot. Haha I hate cars.
My magic wand got confiscated, I'm all out of pixie dust, and I didn't do well in Voodoo 101... that's a head scratcher. The hinges aren't close to any wires right? Does it still have a dome light on it? I'm guessing no, but that's all I have.
Nothing Worse Than Free Electons,
Even in a Magnetic Field....
Try running a Separate Ground Wire to the Hood. And see if it picking up a "Field" from a running Alternator coming close to the Metal Hood when closed.
Just a thought dug out of my old memory bank: I think it was earlier than you car but at one time Ford had a defeat device wired to the hood light switch such that when the hood was raised (like on a dyno) the car ran on a different tune than when the hood was down like on the road. I really doubt your car is subject to that but it IS a thought......
And another, more likely thought - Does the MS use a wheel speed sensor. That would be inactive when sitting in the shop and active when driven. Again, just a thought.......

You are supposed to ground yourself to the body. Hood up, your body does not screw up free protons and electrons.. sitting in it does.,
Try it with hood shut and not sitting in it.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, even you Deaf Bob. Haha.
I messed with it for about 30 minutes today. Ran fine with hood up. Shut hood then resets began. I messed with some stuff and think I have it fixed. I moved the coil wire away from the hood and alternator. Started it up, shut the hood and it never reset. So maybe it is fixed.
Warmed it up, drove around the parking lot for quite a few laps and it worked perfectly!! No more resets!!
AFR's looked good so I rolled into WOT a couple of times and it did great. Sooo happy!!! It's a little on the rich side, 10.9 afr at 8psi but I will take that over being lean!!
