Hold the phone! The owner just called and said it survived! The people up front had no clue. Just went and picked it up.

The undoing process has begun. I could prob have it out in a couple more hours.
I hope to neaten things up a bit and I have a new radiator to go in it. That one is 12 years old and is pretty gunky inside from blown head gaskets and other mechanical mishaps.
Drove Judd's Galaxie to the house and squuuuuueeeeezzzzed it in the third garage bay. That sucker is long.

I fiddled a little today. Didn't have much time. I did get the radiator and fan pulled out and finished up disconnecting stuff on top of the engine. Tomorrow I will disconnect the stuff under it and pull the engine and trans out.
3d printed a tailshaft plug for the AOD. Maybe I will not dump a couple gallons of transmission fluid on the floor this time.

Good day in the shop. My Dad came over and hung out all afternoon. I really enjoyed the company and assistance.
302/AOD popped out real easy and I started cleaning up the wiring in the engine bay. We pulled the 552 over to the car and started looking it over. I am going to paint it blue. I'm tired of the gray.

Today I pulled the intake and cleaned the heads and china walls. The inside of the engine looks great and the intake ports are stuuuupid clean inside. Low to no overlap cam FTW.
Yesterday I noticed a freeze plug dripping so I knocked it put and was greeted by a GIGANTIC gush of water. Nice. The plug had a pin hole in it and the back side was real weird looking. Almost like the metal eroded. Not rusted. Real strange looking so I chose to replace them all.
I banged the other two out, moved to the other side where I was greeted again by a gigantic gush of water. I had 3 plugs on hand so I went ahead and put them in. I picked up more plugs and some paint on the way home today.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Oh yeah that is better. I popped in the remaining 3 new freeze plugs and shot some paint on it.
As soon as the starter and intake gasket show up, I can put the intake and headers on.

I made a speedo hole plug to keep fluid from running out when installing all this mess.
I bought this 4500 to 4150 adapter plate on ebay expecting to get one. I got 5. With gaskets and hardware.

Intake is clean so I started mocking stuff up and looking at fuel line routing.
I may or may not have snuck the nitrous plate under that throttle body.... I mean it needs a spacer to clear the manifold, so why not use one that can add power? Haha.

Man I am excited about this projeect again.
Starter showed up today and I installed it along with the headers. I had to pull the driver's side header back off because it needed a small clearance dent where it was contacting a boss on the block.
Tomorrow I hope to get the intake bolted back on.
I was looking under the back and noticed the Wild Rides S-Box (aftermarket upper control arm mount) is completely murdering the floor pan. This weekend I will look at tying it to the frame rails like I should have when I installed it. Really really, if I could do it again, I would not install it. It really offers little benefit for a car like this.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Went out to the local junkyard today looking for a timing pointer for this engine. I found one but it might have been the only one left as most of the older cars and older trucks are being crushed and sold.
It's a good thing we got the parts we needed for Judd's Galaxie when we did because almost all of those cars are gone now. I don't know if they are selling stuff off and closing or if they're just making room for newer cars.
I worked in the shop a little bit today but it was mostly looking for parts I knew I had but couldn't remember where they were at. I think I found most everything I need.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Don't Ya Love It !!!
It's almost as much Fun as Going on a
Parts Safari ! Looking for STUFF you know you ALREADY acquired.....
And the Side Show is Finding STUFF you have Forgotten
That you have "Paid Good Money For" .......
AND Bought Again !! But it is incentive for use
on the next project.....but Where to put it to remember
