Im not a fan of the dog dishes, just not my thing. Rallys IIs are the closest I get to enjoying stock steel, they're passable but only for certain times I want to be incognito. I'll probably do some Cooper tires, nice and cheap, because this thing is going to get some miles put on it.

The wheels definitely make it look sleepy, can't wait to do this shot again with a sunset and the Hurst rollers under it. The stereo is in for good now, sounds great listening to CCR and Led Zepplin on it. Drives nice, stops good, might have to replace the cooling line fittings since they both seem to leak. Easy fix if I can find a couple different ones. Mounted the drivers mirror too, after the pics. Its scary drilling holes in a freshly painted door. Blinkers, gas gauge, speedo, and wipers are on the short list. It could use an alignment since it pulls left a bit, but I got it kinda close with my tool.

They kinda fit the 65 GTO style. I like slots better, but I have a bunch of those already and these are something you don't see every day. I am surprised at how light they are for a cast wheel, not full on drag wheel light, but still not 80 Turbo trans Am wheel heavy.

    Well........

Um... Lets just say it NEEDS a posi rear BAAAAAADLY. No need to brake stand it, that thing will rip that right rear tire off the rim all the way into third and kill every mosquito in the vicinity with tire smoke. It does pro stock style burnouts. Seriously.

I took it for a test drive tonight after replacing the headers gasket on the drivers side, installing a stereo, making a new cooler line, replacing the thermostat, and getting the lights working. Still need to figure out a turn signal thing, no blinker in the fuse block.

One of the sockets was bad for the tail lights, so I picked up a couple LED trailer lights at WallyWorld today. I have a couple others, but I cut one a bit too small to mount it easily. Pulled the quarter extensions, yanked the lenses, and simply stuffed the LEDs in there and ran the wires out the socket hole. Clip and splice the wires, ground the LED, and bang zoom we have kick butt tail lights that are bright and don't take up much power. No need to buy more 1157s either. The front marker and turn lights were trashed, the sockets are done, the lenses I could fix, but instead I grabbed a couple amber LED marker lights, fit them into the stock brackets, and ran a wire to the turn signal harness.

Left to do other than drive it so the EFI can learn, it needs a speedo cable, probably snag one from one of the other cars I have around here. I need to run a wire for the fuel gauge, for some reason it's missing from the harness I got.Quite easy to do, so no big deal. Need to get the wipers on and working, might need a switch, might work fine, hard to say since I haven't tried them at all yet.

Need to get a new set of tires, thinking of 255 60 15 rear and 215 60 15 front, the wheels on it are too grandpa for me and the tires are obviously too small, both for appearance and because taking off from a stoplight will net me tickets from the EPA as well as exhibition of acceleration. A bonus, the girl I am building the the Cutlass for got me a birthday present. Two are here, 15x6 fronts, and the 15x8 rears will show up sometime later. Wish I could snag some white letter BFGs or Firestones, but they dont make them anymore. Mickey Thompson makes white letters, but I can't blow $600 on a set of tires right now. Probably going to get Coopers and turn the white letters in.
