I like the Mercury. Not something you see every day. Is there a 52-53 Buick straight eight Roadmaster in there? I'm thinkin' about an XO engine, but just in the thinkin' stage right now.

        Re: 65 GTO

I didnt see any fanged Buicks, but I will check for them when I go pick up the rest of the Tempest parts.

I am seriously considering the Merc, it would be sweet dropped or bagged with some trim deleted, maybe chrome reverse wheels, or maybe go with a Nascar look, basset wheels and really low sporting FE power but no lettering. Its definitely not a car you see all the time, and most of it is there. Or I could go full retard and stick a 4.6 or 5.4 in it with late Vic running gear under it.. I just missed a $200 vic with a 4.6 this winter, ran good but everything was shot, I just didnt have a use for it at that point. Its not like they arent easy to find. I could get really silly with that car and do something terribly unique and interesting.

Most of the interior is there too.

What I want but cant afford are these..

          Re: 65 GTO

Let me know if you think he'd part with pieces off the tbird 390.

I have some but not all of the fead for the 428 in the mustang.

Getting the whole set up off another FE would make life much easier for me.... I'm not as concerned with this stuff being "correct" as I am with it working!

My car has power steering, brakes, and AC all of which I'd like to put back into the car and in working order.... someday.

I'm LOVING the idea of that Merc! that would make a cool driver - I'm assuming it's a full frame car - how hard would it be to drop it onto the frame of something more modern - ala rusty?

            Re: 65 GTO

He has quite a bit of FE stuff, we could probably work something out. He would rather move an entire car than sell some parts though, he has too much stuff and just wants it gone. On most stuff he is reasonable but he has absolutely no patience for tire kickers and people who try to talk him down again after making an agreement on the phone. Be straight with him and he is agreeable.

I dont know what it would take to drop it on another frame, I havent looked under it and really I have never seen one of those before. I figure its all king pins and X frames under there like most stuff of that era. Doesnt matter to me, if I do it the floors will be custom built anyway so I could mount it to whatever I have laying around.. how about a 4x4 F150? Just kiddin... I hate that. A Vic with disc all around would be nice, or something with air and levelers would too.

I am really not normal, I should be just building the stuff I already have. : ;D

I really mess that one up. NOBODY thinks like me so I'm not normal, either. Maybe Ward and June Cleaver were "normal"? Fortunately, lots of folks are willing to put up with me here at the asylum.

                    Normal - meh - boring!

I have already been thinking about putting the body of something cool and old over the frame and powertrain of the ranger... and it's not even running yet!

Yea - we're all sick in a wonderful sort of way around here.

Got things going on that need attention, life happens but I will do what I can, just no more marathon welding sessions, its going to slow down quite a bit. I showed it to my father in law because he is doing much better and I wanted him to know it was started, since it will be a while before I can finish it now.

I'm even limiting my time online, just lots of important things to deal with.

I wouldn't mind having the valve cover off the Pontiac's six banger if nobody's gonna do anything with it. ;D

Not really of much advantage for what I'm doing. The regular head w/lumps is so well refined that it can outdo the little Pontiac. I couldn't run production classes as that configuration wasn't offered in the Camaro body. So, while interesting, it doesn't fit in my program.
