nope. haoles are the 'regular' white people that come as tourists or

we're technically 'remote displaced appellation americans', even if you
were born here, your skin is brown, and you aint never been to the south.

basically, rock-bound rednecks. i wear that badge with pride.

Once again I have let my A.D.D. distract me from this project

My name is DWB and I have a problem....
I tell my wife that she is distracted by anything shiny. The truth is, I'm distracted by EVERY FRICKIN THING, especially if it's rusty, shiny, loud, pretty, quiet or ugly.

Case in point, a few things that I've been goofing around with besides this Ol truck

        1 I built a cnc router

This still has it's original 4 speed, transfer case. and axles.
It seems that only 330 or so rolled off of the line as 4x4 in 1964.
It was special ordered in government gray, so I assume it had a military or civil servant career back in the day.

it's nice to know that we're all such healthy individuals. individually, we may have a problem, but collectively we have a voting bloc.

OK, so this dang thang has been in my way for a long time.
A while back I drew up a complete wiring schematic with wire lengths, specs, clever gadgets, switches, and relays.... then I lost it.
This weekend I decided to just wing it. It is well past time for this thing move forward or move out.

I got the cluster wired up ready for sender/power/gnd connections.
I also connected a battery to it and attempted fire for the first time.
I'm pretty sure this nailhead has not been fired in at least 15 years.

BOOYAAAA! that's a wonderful sound! and bonus - it doesn't look like you let any smoke out of the wires when the gauge lights came on - so - you're GOOD!

Are you using a wiring kit or going completely from scratch?

The 'ol Buick seems like It might work out. A carb kit, fuel pump, fresh oil/filter, 8 shots of wd, and new plugs is the only prep so far.
I'll be converting the dist. to electronic next week.

The "wiring kit" is just several spools of wire, a few relays/switches, a marine fuse box, and terminals.
It's very basic, just Ho/Lo, turn, stop, and a horn so far. I'll use a hot rod turn signal switch from speedway.

LOL, no smoke so far, I'll save the smoke refill kit for another day!

I got some brake stuff in today, I hope to have that worked out when the wife goes back on shift next weekend. Until then We'll be working on new her crash pad near the hospital.

I had some recess time this weekend. I didn't get as much done as I hoped (I never do) but it's progress.
Floors tacked in place, distributor upgraded to magnetic pick up, transmission tunnel pieces in progress, master cylinder/pedal/linkage functioning.
Seat mount location and angle located. I hoped to get the brake lines all figured out but I had a problem with the recommended banjo fittings for the front calipers interfering with the front axle at full lock - no thanks! looking at other fitting options.

Oh yeah! I did some imaginary burnouts.
