Here's a pic of my dad (Jerry Dross), he hasn't been on here yet as not long after I sent him the link(while painting the body of this car) he went in the hospital for a few... well he's back out and in less then 12 hours from a serious operation he was getting the body back on his car for the last time......(he's 75yrs old btw and still does all his own stuff and 95% of the time by himself, from body and engine R&R's to multiple mock up reassemblies and flipping the frame down the drive to sand blast and paint it, etc, etc,). So needless to say, although I have idols and icons in my life.. this guy is my hero!

Not going to bore with details that I'd screw up anyway... just thought I'd throw out some of the pics I have so far to get the project up to date here(btw, he's done enough "ya have to do it this way" restorations that this is his "screw everyone, I'm doing it my way" turn).

These aren't necessarily in order(photobucket and my lack of forethought kind of screwed me outta that one), and there's probably way more then what most of you care to see, but for now this allows me to get what may very well be the last car my dad builds on the ground floor of new gig here and hopefully forever etched in this forum)amazing how the older I get, the prouder he makes me). Ohh well the pics are what they are, and that's just random pics of my dad's current passion.

I'll continue updating this by throwing a pic in here and there as I get them from him, but hopefully he'll eventually get on here to introduce himself and add some actual facts to his existence(preferably without exposing too much of mine).
Thanks for having aplace I could do this,
    Todd

      I love the primered motor...

Wish his son would have picked up on them wrenching skills...

It's actually really good paint and the look he wanted for the frame and motor(i tried to teach him what cool looks like, but he told me black belongs on tires).
And you're right Keith, I wish my brother could wrench better too ;)

My Sweetie and I swung by Jerry's the other night and had a chance to meet him and the car. Too bad Todd didn't get more of Jerry's genes - I thought he was about my age, and he turns out to be about 15 years older (and I'm an old fart). The car is lovely, and so far, beautifully done. It was funny to hear him apologize for a perfectly lovely paint job - "it has this (microscopic) flaw here, and that (atom) is out of place". It's about a 6" job!

Look forward to seeing more on the car as it progresses, and as Jerry heals. He says we'll "do" dinner soon, so we look forward to getting to know him better - we live about 5 miles from each other.

            Later
            Dan

Very nice work so far. I wasn't sure about the brown sbc when I first saw it, but with the accessories on it most certainly does work. Please keep posting updates and pictures of when its done.

                  Re: Indianjer's 1935 Ford 4dr

Thanks for the above compliments(like I have anything to do with what's being done :).

Well I went down for Turkey day and missed you Dan then have had my hands full with Deb and life, etc... But while I was down visiting I did help Dad install and bolt down the last few body to frame fasteners(and break down the body, door and fender stands), untape a few things, organize a little of the parts in the attic and snap a couple more pics - all without breaking anything I might add ;D.

He made the stands so his buddy that shot the last of the metal(while he was laid up in the hospital) could hold the doors and fenders in the same exact position they would be on the car(he was adimant about shooting them seperate and then installing afterwards - looking at them now it was absolutley a good choice).

Well, anyway... here's the last pics I got while there(until he either joins in here, sneds me more pics or I show up there to get some more pics myself).

                  Todd
PS: Dan, Dad really enjoyed you coming up to his place. Depending on the time frame(and if it happens for sure), maybe you can treat me to that burger you talked about over Christmas weekend?

My entire intrest in all things automotive stems from my uncle's 35 3 window coupe, i have pics somewhere of me in the rumble seat in the pouring rain at 12yrs old riding 5hrs to get to a rod run, it was a rat rod long before they were the "in" thing to do, flat back, cragars and no interior, these days it's shiny and pretty, and still driven everyday when there isn't three feet of snow outside....these pics bring back great memories, thanks for that...oh and this sedan is perfect by the way.....

Hi Joe, pics tend to fool people like that sometimes. Whether he let me or not, never stopped me from driving his things when I was a kid(at least not his motorcycle or my mom's car)... but by the time I got my license, figured out that I didn't like my hide tanned much, and started being honest & helpful to him... he has since let me drive every vehicle he's ever done and owned.
Yeah I forget you moved, maybe we can at least meet up for a hot cup of mud on the way down... what exit are you closest to now? How are you doing by the way?

Bygdy, glad to hear a good memory like that and thanks for the good word, I will certainly pass it along.
Good thing about memories... we can make new ones anytime we want.
