Re: It Started With A Leak.............

Oh, joy, they came today, the Y pipe was here yesterday.
It going to be fun hooking it up under the car.
    ;D

I have two choices, reducer cones,

Or this, which would make removal of the Y pipe so easy.

Zing! Very nice, I was looking at your picture over in the tech section but had no answer to your question.
        Escaped on a technicality.

          Today, Hedders painted and installed.
I was dead lucky, the VHT paint never marked or chipped during the installation,
and they flopped about some knocking against everything.

This Hedman kit for 82-92 Camaros is really good, they include everything, even the small headed header bolts.

            looking good Malc!

(yea - DWB - that front cover / timing chain interference is a big bucket of suck!)
There's always something new to learn.

It is pretty tight in threre, chain to block as well but I could not find any interference.
I also turned the motor by hand, plugs out, and I never heard any ghastly scrapings.

I am in limbo again waiting on Customs to deliver my exhaust connector and four feet of 2.5"
              Summit tubing.

In the meantime I will be plumbing an apartment,
and as usual I will be in some kind of hole or corner doing it.

Much easier to install than I thought, just raised the motor an inch or so and both headers dropped in.
I have some misalignment to the 3" Flowmaster and need a tool to separate the pipe I am connecting to,
and bring it forward and add a little twist.
Luckily someone near me has such a tool.
I need to get back to welding practise but when I am not on the car I am on something else.
Ask me how I like to do plumbing...........

Re: It Started With A Leak.............

I have been away two weeks, the customs man sent my last piece the day after I left.
This week I got the Y pipe finished up, my welds are like eagle poop, I have not done any
welding since I was twenty, anyway it is one lump now and in place.
It will have to come off later for weld grinding and painting.
Timing cover leak is done as well.
