Great story and pix, thanks for sharing! I've had my Mustang since I got out of the Navy in '93. I was also in HS in '86 but instead I was rollin' in a gold 4 door '60 Buick LeSabre we called 'The Flounder'.

Since my engine mishap I'm upgrading from the 347 to a 351w stroked to 429. I'm thinking that my C-4 will need to be upgraded. Did you have yours built locally or is it one you purchased done from someone?

I had it built with by Dynamic Racing Transmissions up in Connecticut http://www.dynamicracingtrans.com/index.htm. I had to supply them all my Dyno Sheets and fill out an extensive spec sheet on the car and ET goals.

It is one of their fully rollerized Mity-Mite C4's that come with a Hardened Input Shaft, Blue-Printed Pump w/Wide Babbit Bushing and Teflon Sealing Rings, Solid-Strength Fwd. Drum, 5-Clutch Packs in Fwd. and Direct (with Kolene steels in Dir.), Rev. Manual Valve Body w/matched Servo and I put on an ATI cast pan and locking dipstick. I am using a Winters Shifter and no Trans-Brake, Foot Brake only.

The converter came from them also (TCT Converters). It's a 8" piece with a Furnace Brazed, Hardened Pump Hub, Anti-Ballooning Plates, Triple Bearing Package, Billet Stator, Chromoly Turbine Hub with Bushings and again was custom built for my application and specs.

This combo is ROCK SOLID durable and is very efficient with seemingly little power loss. Dynamic is a Father and Son outfit and are great to deal with, I would and have recommended them to anyone.

A few months late on this but...I freshened the trans and converter this summer. After 7 seasons the sprag gave up in the converter...soooo out it came. Shipped both pieces up to Dynamic Racing in CT and a 2 weeks later....

Ready to go back in...

My shield had expired so a shiney new TCI unit was bolted on along with some new Jiffy-Tite Quick disconnect lines to help ease the in and out dance for the future. Nice stuff. Made up new lines to and from the cooler plus installed a fresh AutoMeter temp manifold block for the trans temp gauge. No leaks and we were ready to go...
