well atleast it wasnt one of those rare vettes in that big rig that hit a bridge, so while the car is at the shop i guess you're going to be making some new latches inside the trailer ?Leave a comment:

Damn-that sucks. And of course it would never have happened if the car wasn't so nice.Leave a comment:

And here's the bad...
Coming home from the track two weekends ago, the tray on my trailer door pit pal rack dropped open and dented and gouged the shit outta the fender. Needless to say I was pretty sick to my stomach. We are entered in the York Muscle Car Madness show in two weeks!
So it's off to the body shop after this weekends race. Glenn from Paintin' Place says it will be ready for next weekend...fingers crossed.

I think those dates will work. My daughter's sweet 16 party will be done and it's before we go to the Wyoming county fair.Leave a comment:

As far as getting all the way around the tube, just go as far and as best as you can. If you can't get all the way around put a gusset in the corner. At least that is what I told...
The Ford Motorsport Nats is now a Fun Ford Event, going to be August 18-19 2012...Still gonna be hot!
We will be there, let me know if your coming down...

Hey Joe, since I know sh*t from Shinola about cages, how do you weld all the way around the tube in tight areas like inside the dash and so on? Ford Motorsport Nationals coming back to Maple Grove? When? I use to go. Always seemed to be a million degrees during the event. I'd like to go back.Leave a comment:

I like that idea, I might have to steal that one Bill....Originally posted by CDMBill View PostGo straight to the AFCO's then, you'll be glad you did and they have the BNC valving for cars that make cover shot launches on every pass. BTW after seeing your broken shock picture I was reminded that I'd built these shock mounts and used an 'eye' style shock to cure that issue and free things up a bit more.
I didn't have the Afco's on it when I took these pictures, but I do now.

I was leaning toward the Afco DA's, thanks for the recommendation!Last edited by Joe Grippo; March 6, 2012, 07:35 AM.Leave a comment:

This last one shows the roller perch I got from a Guy Known as F15 Falcon on the Ford boards. The shock tower bracing I added when I dropped the upper mount point in improve the road course handling aspects and camber curve. Doesn't help the drag race set-up at all.

That is what I am striving for...efficiency and repeatability. I want to try a double adjustable shock for some fine tuning also.Originally posted by CDMBill View PostThe roller perches made a big difference on my car, but yours is already reaching for the sky, it'll be interesting to see how suspension efficiency helps you pick up ET
I am not looking to put it on the bumper every pass....Leave a comment:

No inspection required until I go in the nines, though it will certify when needed down the road...unless they change a requirement.Originally posted by milner351 View PostWow - NICE!
Do you have to get that inspected?
Is your car an original fold down? I'm still hunting for some of the Non fold down stuff for mine.
Nope, not a fold down just a standard back seat.Leave a comment:

Bill, no one has ever said anything about the isolator, been on there for years.
Not alot to say about the suspension just yet. Front is all stock style Moog components save for the Calvert 90/10 shocks and Calvert Adjustable Strut Rods (which my alignment guy raved about!) Out back is more of Calvert's finest...Caltrac Bars, Split-Mono Leafs Springs and Calvert 9-way Adjustable shocks set on 9 (hardest setting). When towing I soften them down to 3. Gears are 4.56, slicks are 29.5 x 9 ET Drags with Moroso skinnies up front.
I am planning on redoing the front suspension this summer with all the rollerized stuff from OpenTracker. I am currently accumulating parts, I have the bumpsteer kit and roller spring perches still need to get the upper and lower arms yet.
