I posted some on the Land Speed section of the forum. And thinking about turning my 61 Belair Bubbletop into a land speed car got me fired up to do some bodywork on it. I filled in the rust holes in the right quarter.

not much progress the past couple days, but I did blast the trunk lid today, it had been without paint for years...it's pretty straight and mostly solid, and I think the top surface will clean up ok with a bit of sanding and a layer or two of primer.
Think of the changes in that model line in just a few years. From an upside down bathtub shape which ran from '49 - 54, then the much beloved icons from 55 - 57, then the flat wide horizontal finned wonders of 58, 59, then this totally awesome beauty by 61.
I'm sure glad guys like us preserve cars like this - damned shame cars don't have much of a personality anymore.
