  • 2000 S-10 Vortec 350 Swap

Well I finally started this swap. Ive had this truck about 8 years now always wanted to do it but racing and other stuff had always got in the way. I figured i'd try and bang this out this winter before racing starts back up in the spring.

Anyway 2000 Xtreme reg cab stepside black 4.3 5 speed stock
Plan is to try and make the engine bay as stock looking as possible other than the cai I have

Here's the truck sorry about the busted front end

    The 4.3

    The 350 almost complete
    .030 over
    345cnp coated pistons
    resized rods with arp bolts
    I polished the stock crank
ported a a set of RHS heads
    LT4 Hot Cam
    1.6 narrow body roller rockers

should be pretty decent its still a daily driver truck during the summer

I glass beaded the 4.3 belt drive

the motor is pretty much done i gotta put the new injector in im also looking for a V maxx spacer if anyone knows if you can still buy them??
Hope to get it in in the next couple weeks. I gotta clean up the engine bay and find a t-56. If anyone has one for sale please let me know.

You are showing alot more restraint with that project than most of us... and being very thorough in your cleaning. That's more than I can say for most of us. lol

By upgraded injector do you mean the upgraded spider that converts it over to MPFI? Made a big difference on my buddy's 97 GMC K1500.

Smoothed out the idle, lost some random missfires and while I won't say it increased the power (we did it along with some other things) but it was more fun to drive afterwards. Kit gets rid of the goofey poppet valves and puts the injectors down at the ports.

Yeah I'm gonna put the electronic injector in they pretty much just to eliminate headaches from the poppets.
It's a direct bolt on also has a slightly adjustable regulator built in

Well I've done abit more work to the truck over the last couple weeks. Had to do some regular front end work figured id do it when the motor was out. I then cleaned up the engine bay and painted the frame and stuffed the motor in. The trany is in I'm reusing the NV3500 i have for now with the new Centerforce clutch i put in about 800 miles ago. We'll see how long this trany will last :D it will get swapped for a t-56. Right now I'm waiting for the eFans and the LSx pcm to show up so I can finish the rewiring. Should be making noise in the next few weeks ;D

sorry for the crappy iPhone pics

picked up the engine from the shop looks tiny in this truck :D

Modifying the stock harness for the LSx pcm

Inside still looks stock although the shifter is about 1 inch back

gotta love serpentine drives - it looks like it was made for it, almost small in the bay too. Good stuff... looks very clean and very factory.
