    Here is my current project.

    1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass

These go from a bit older, up to now.

    In order

Heater box that I made form the original...

I went back and primmed it and painted it black

    Floor and Trunk pan replacement:

    Floor

    Trunk

    Mom helping

Here is the body as it is now. Everything is in primer and I am trying to get all of the parts trimmed in. I will hang and align everything and then paint it together.

    Here is the motor.

I finished it the weekend before last (for the second time) I hope I got it right this time.

I under coated it last weekend and cut a hole for the shifter.

I hope to drop the motor and trans in this weekend.

Very nice. Can't wait to see it on the
road... or possibly on the Power Tour?

                  Hey guys,

I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words. Work contiues to progress, seems slow but what can you do. Only so many hours to spare

I have a few new pics.

                  Finished Heater Box

Four speed hum welded in and 442H handle that belonged to my grandfather installed

                  Doors hung and aligned

Trunk hung and trunk pan coated with bed liner

                  Underside coated with bedliner

                  Motor where it goes.

Just to show that you can't do it alone, here is my wife degreasing the underside of the hood for me.

There are a ton of other people like my mom and my instructor in bodyschool that I could not do it without either.

I am hoping to shoot the rest of the paint with in the next month. Then it will be time to get it running.

                  Marty

Nice to see a four speed in there. I've had a soft spot for those 68-69 Cutlass and 442's ever since I was a kid. My older sister first boyfriend had a bright red 69 442 with a insane 12.5 455/ 4 speed. He used to take me for rides in it while he waited for my sister to finish getting ready for their dates. He later pulled the 455 and changed the pistons so he could run it on pump gas. The poor car sat beside his Dad's house for six years while Todd went off to serve his country. It needed a lot of help the last time I saw it.

Please keep us updated. I can't wait to see it in paint.

Did American Grafitti not have one for your model?
I see their webpage printout in your pic.

                              Thanks guys.

It is always good when other gearheads like your work.

I am lucky. Both my mom and my wife help me with my addiction uh.. hobby. This is my third build and by far my most in depth. I used a crate motor and had someone else paint my camaro. Then on my mom's car we did a lot more of the work ourselves. This time, there will be nothing we have not tried. Built our first motor, and doing the paint and bodywork ourselves.

Hey steve, AG did have a box for my car. I used one of theres on my mom's and loved it. I just wanted to try something with fiberglass. It came out pretty good, but it is a little thicker than it needed to be. It makes it kinda heavy. next time I think I will try something a little different with my mold.
