  • Nice catch. That would have been a bad day somewhere down the line, had you not seen that.

    • not to dig dead project shelf cars up from the dead, but did you ever look for a source for tops for this car? I found the title for mine. It needs a top, and a Kubota.

        • Thanks. I did some looking for a new canvas, but I couldn't remember if you'd ever researched that or not. Looks like 200-250 or so for a top.

          • I don't plan on putting the top back on, I will, if I find one, put a hardtop on it... but the soft top won't work since I moved everything back a foot.

            • Maybe Beags can build you a second hardtop when he builds one for him? He made a rather nice topper for his pickup recently......

I used treated plywood - nothing but the best for my garbage scow!

it's a shame that I may not use the harness - but I also think a 700 or 900 hp Fiat could have some uses.

I've also consciously not bought more projects so I can get these last 2 done.... I still want to do an LS powered awd s-10 blazer (with turbos, of course) a 73-75 Blazer (with overland camper), a Land Rover D110, and a diesel powered Class A (like repower with a Cummins or Duramax)... but I wait, well, the class A may come soon and an enclosed trailer... what will be interesting will be whether I sell the Corvette or the Fiat when it's done....

and for the record, the 64 wagon is what comes back into the shop as the project. I need to do transmission swaps in both the C3 and FJ40 - but the project will be back to the wagon.... I've had help for the past few weeks, so thankful for it, so things are moving faster. I'd love to start that 10 year Sledanet build....

                              • 2000#, 6 speed manual... but then what - I honestly have no idea what I want in this car.... maybe something high-rev'ing 4 cyl? rotary? V8? a 300 hp 3800 V6 would make it scoot... I have a bit of time because the Buick wagon is coming back in once Britney is out....
