it runs still needs a lot of work done though. ran into an issue with the EGR aperantly the aftermarket plenum needs shorter bolts it did not come with any and there was nothing that said it needed them so the car ran horrible took me a wile to figure it out

OOOPS!! Hope you got that taken care of. One of my favorite cop jokes, for no apparent reason:

A guy gets clocked going 80 and seeing the cherries come on and follow him, he speeds up to over 100 mph, then gets smart and pulls over. The cop walks up and says "If you can give me an excuse I've never heard for whatever the hell that was back there, I'll let you go."

The man says "Well, my wife ran off with a cop last week, and I thought it was you... and you were trying to give her BACK"

      "You can go."

starting to think the heater hose blowing off was a bigger issue. put the new intake on and got every thing hooked up put coolant in the car filled upt he degas bottle wated for the T-stat to open topped it off then put the cap on let it run for a bit and it blew out the driver side rear of the gasket. the heater hoses where also scolding hot but both rad hoses where cold.

none of the coolant ports looked pluged and none of the hoses are restricted/pinched but the rear of the engine is building up enough pressure to blow either hose off or the gasket out

sounds like you have air trapped in the system - hondas are notorious for doing that

ex's Honda had a bleed port on the t-stat housing to burp it - when I put a water pump on it, it did kind of the same thing (ran hot) until I got the air out of it. One of those "huh, wonder why this is here" moments.

well just found this coolant refill TSB. huh working at a ford dealer you would think i would have known about this but i mainly worked on diesels rarely ever touched a gas vehicle

                  "TSB 14394
                  Coolant fill procedure
At times in order to completely remove any trapped air in the cooling system of vehicles equipped with 4.6/5.4/6.8L Modular engines, it is necessary to use the following procedure: Disconnect the heater hose at the right front or rear of the engine, remove the thermostat and housing using the thermostat opening carefully fill the engine with the proper clean coolant mixture until observed at the engine side heater hose connection. Reconnect the heater hose and reinstall the thermostat and housing. Fill the degas bottle to the coolant fill level mark run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperatures select max heat and max blower speed on the climate system if the heat output is insufficient, or the engine does not reach normal operating temperatures, verify proper thermostat operation and repeat procedure if required."

well i have reinstalled the intake and letting the RTV set for 24hrs then i will refill it with coolant and see if it holds i have a coolant pressure tester if it does nto the car will proably be scrapped as getting a new enigne and installing it will just not be worth my time for a daily driver that has over 210,000 miles

well this is the last update on the car as when it puked coolant whent he heater hose went it warped the head. now i could fix it i know hwere i can get an engine for cheap but this car has 210,000 miles it was abused for most of the that and well it's going to just turn into a never ending project the car was a DD not a project car and i really do not want to turn it into one so it will be shipped off to china

not all bad though in the time i had it i put only $200 in it and bout it for $900 and put over 20,000 miles on it in a year and half of owning it not bad for a car that was only supose to last through the winter

now to cut off the $200 worth of cat converts and the aluminum hood and trunk all the perfomance parts i bought for it never got a chance to use so they will go in my pile of parts for a future project

Sell the body/frame to a derby guy... They are sought after...
Most swap rears to either GM 10 bolt or 9 inch ...

i looked into what one in it's current shape would sell for and china would give me more money. heck scrapping the 4 cat converters alone would give me more then i could sell it for

the derby guys here are cheap and and would not give me more then $300 for the car and proably would knock me down to $200

Guess they don't wanna win too bad.. We pay $300 for rusty FOMOCO's of the 64 down variety...and have paid up to $600 for rolling shells ... We have ran the Vic/Markys... Good cars but no competition vs the older GM's and Fords Soon tho..

well i still have this car it's still sitting int he drive way with a half torn down engine. i have not scrapped it yet something is just preventing me form doing so and now scrap is down so much it's not worth the gas to take it in

then my uncle came over to help get the lawn mower running (no idea what's wrong with it) and said we are towing the car to his house to put a new motor in it so the Police Merc will burnout again

here is what it currently looks like

plan is 01+ PI engine and sense the exhaust is long sense taken to scarp because of the cats going to get a used set of mustang headers from BBk (they fit with "persuasion") and then dual thrush chambered mufflers exiting before the rear wheel
