The baseline F150 trucks at work ('06ish iirc) have 2V 4.6s and aluminum intakes, they have drive by wire though, and to be honest I'm not really sure if the earlier throttle bodies go on. I stopped messing with the 2V 4.6 after 2000 or so (just after PI heads of course. lol) and have never messed with a 3V. If you were stuck with composite I'm sure you could cook up a cool heater (how's that for an oxymoron?) like you did for your Subby if you really had to.

    thanks for refresh..
I have been subscribed to some mustang info for quite some time.

I think I could do composite, simply the updated dorman, or whatever. I tend to go for an iced top end anyway.

I was remembering alot can fit if to raise the hood on some of this stuff. linkage and hose complaints is trivial.

I did find the old intake, and that they are restrictive.. they seem to get a good penny for those as stand alone. I won't wonder why.

I see one of the older, last of aluminums, nearly every day. no fog in the glass lights either. I bet that is a happy owner there.
only 5 years newer than my pulverized tin can. ..and it is out there nearly every day.

seeing as the PI intake performs just as well as the bullitt intake on dyno test same here

the plastic also has better thermal efficiency and after 200,000 miles my plastic intake was doing just fine untill the heater nipple failed

not sure what the guy is doing with it that i sold it too he had a mustang that got T-boned and wanted to swap in the engine and manual trans into the merc

the PI composite is the best flowing intake manifold all aftermarkets either loose torque or midrange the edlebrock intake is really only good for a boosted car

if you are not worried about power look at the 93 and older cars they had an aluminum intake only 190hp though

    not to invade your thread..
but was digging into crown vic info and stopped cold at the composite intake.
I found a really informative site for the updates, a few hacks..but still composite.
I then thought if to go through with it, none of my stuff has egr if it means hacking little dummy lights.
the big source of killer blocked off.

I found an edlebrock aluminum, but does not just swap.

any performance stuff to get out of the composite entirely?

my locale can't even do a rubber cold boot for long. never mind an entire intake.
my dads 07 liberty is a heartcahe to drive. same composite fairy tale.

I guess I deciphered why the most common sedan in america is narrowed down to cop cars here.

I like the crown vics, I may not even go for the cop car p71. finding low miles and low price is no longer bewildering after learning of the heater hose and plastics.

Cool! 210K is just broken in...
Rides/drives good... Might as well fix n drive...
You KNOW you will survive a crash in one of these..(depending)
Dodge pickup had sun in eyes and rear ended a neighbor in a smallish car up at the stop sign.. 45 mph speed zone.. Bumper of the car was practically under the rear end.. If it is the neighbor I think it is.. It is a mid sized Lexus..so instead of a trunk.. It has nothing past the rear tires...

well i still have this car it's still sitting int he drive way with a half torn down engine. i have not scrapped it yet something is just preventing me form doing so and now scrap is down so much it's not worth the gas to take it in

then my uncle came over to help get the lawn mower running (no idea what's wrong with it) and said we are towing the car to his house to put a new motor in it so the Police Merc will burnout again

here is what it currently looks like

plan is 01+ PI engine and sense the exhaust is long sense taken to scarp because of the cats going to get a used set of mustang headers from BBk (they fit with "persuasion") and then dual thrush chambered mufflers exiting before the rear wheel

Guess they don't wanna win too bad.. We pay $300 for rusty FOMOCO's of the 64 down variety...and have paid up to $600 for rolling shells ... We have ran the Vic/Markys... Good cars but no competition vs the older GM's and Fords Soon tho..
