    Re: my projects

I'm just glad you're OK big guy.

I think that 89 woody wagon is all you - if the guy still has it and it's as nice as pictured.
There's always something new to learn.

Wow! Sorry to see that man. Can you combine the 2 broken Foci and make a good one?

That was my first thought too Doug - Aaron would have the only manual trans focus wagon around!

Aaron looked closely in the engine compartment and is pretty certain there's damage to the trans case and linkage - seems it looks better in the pictures than in real life - he's going to let it go to the impound.

I just hope he can find something reliable and safe for his long commute - and soon - without going into too much debt while is wife isn't yet working.

I put 2 Foci together. They are GREAT little cars. Both came out well but I lost my butt on Focus #2. Seems like a heart attack got in the middle of the rebuild and I missed my market just because the car got a year older. Oh, well!

Man, that sucks. It was pretty hairy driving home Wednesday night, I kept getting wheelspin at 60+ mph on I-96 with all the icy spots. Lane changes were pretty much white-knuckle moments. Luckily I've been driving my Escort lately, I don't think my truck would have done as well. For an $800 car, it's been pretty damn good.

70mph on ice? Are you out of your mind? Good thing that's all that happened.

                Re: my projects

Wet snow between the lanes caught the left front wheel, spinning me around backwards into the fast lane where the ice was. I hit back first and spun me around and caught the front and a couple 360 later I stopped. The lane I was in was dry.

                  Re: my projects

Ya I can see that happening. My truck weighs in at 7100lbs and when I get into that center snow berm it's like the tires on that side lock up for just a second. I can imagine what it's like in that little car.

I got into this a little late. :-[

That it had a fuel pump eccentric is not uncommon.
That it had a roller cam, and not be an H.O. is
                      also not uncommon.
Those heads are a variation of the E6TE(aka swirl) castings,
and not a very good option, starting with E7TE's would be better.
A step up tp Explorer(GT40's) would be better still(on a budget),
best yet would be to step up to aftermarket such as AFR.

Plan on keeping the 'Mont EFI?

I took off the the HIPO heads on my Mustang, and the 600 in lift cam. Put the e7te heads and roller cam in my Mustang. This made the Mustang more streetable, ala pump gas. Cheap way for now. The 89 roller is for the Fairmont. That is a project for me and my boy. He just turned 14 and is showing an interest in the Fairmont. It is on hold because it is too cold. I was going to carb it, already offed the EFI to a buddy. The Fairlane is in now for some upgrades. :

                            NICE!

don't forget to check with me on the big 'n littles for the 'lane before you pull the trigger on new ones.
The front runners I have I think are going to be too short for the ranger - but maybe just fine for the 'lane.

(btw the mad dog headers showed up for the 428... I'm afraid to coat them before fitting them....)

Tires will be changed in the future. The wife's input to the cause!
