        • Well, I hauled Maybelline up to Independence last week for the aforementioned work/storage period. First time the old gal had been above 50 MPH in over 50 years I'll bet! I think she enjoyed it.

Here she is basking in the sun with some other hotrods. I KNOW she enjoyed that!

I'll go visit her in early June.
          More to come.

            • I visited the old gal today and caught her out sun bathing with some others again!
Seriously, Mike's shop if stuffed and they move those who are at the end of the line outside during working hours when weather permits to reduce the dust, dirt and other possible forms of damage that can be emitted during construction of other cars. I left a nice check with him, so maybe she'll move up the line a little bit. I'll see her again in three or four weeks.

                • I had an extended trip and planned on spending an extra day in KC to go see the old gal. The shop had called me to let me know that somehow the tail lights were on, and the battery had to be disconnected to extinguish them. So, before leaving Wichita I loaded up all my electrical stuff and figured the switch probably had a loose wire, or something worse. Flew the trip and went to the shop 10 days later.
I pulled the switch with no problems evident so I connected the battery. Sure enough, the taillights were on, so ...............then it got funny.....so was the 3rd brake light. I thought maybe the stop light switch was at fault, but even disconnected, the lights remained on. Started tracing the wiring right up to the steering column connector, then it dawned on me. Sure enough, they had bumped the 4-way switch on the steering column and because the front parking lights aren't hooked up there wasn't enough resistance to make the flasher work. Well, that just proves that even the pros get fooled once in awhile. Now my question is: why is the emergency flasher hooked into the brake light circuit?? The turn-signal circuit....yes....but why the third brake light??? I may learn that it flashes with the turn signals too. Time to study the wiring diagram, I guess.
                  More to come.

                  • Did have a separate wire for the third brake light if not it will.

                    • Been thinking about it overnight........the Libby light is split so that half of it flashes with it's related turn signal. I wired each segment to work that way, so this may just end up being the way it is. I don't think it's a bad thing, just........different. Hopefully the 4-way flashers won't get much use...........

                            • I wish. She's at Restomod for exhaust and a few other things. Oh well, the shop/garage isn't started yet so she has to stay up there for awhile longer even if they aren't working on her.
