Have I mentioned I'm going to make this thing drive with the 'old' motor that's in it? the motor needs bearings, but it ran when parked - so as long as the rings aren't rusted....

Did you cut the rubber? I know that old rubber can be pretty inflexible. The window channel looks great, though - a real plus.

now that the block has been fully seasoned...

the first step is clean up the block... interestingly this is a 5/8" bore block (oil passage which makes it a 74 and later block)

so the back story is I need to get these parts in one place (and I may throw the car together enough to drive).... but most importantly, we may be moving soon and the safest way to transport it is together

missing freeze plugs, I have to timing covers but neither are perfect (and I'm still leaning towards a scavenging system), the oil pan needs a massage but I may simply build a new one, need to drill for injectors then plumb it, I also need to talk to the machine shop... a friend was 'managing' the build.... but never told me what was and was not done - it appears the passages might have been opened up but I don't know....
