I keep going back at looking at the rear view of the driveshaft angles........how in the heck does that change and the ride height stay the same? Surely you would notice if you added some spacers to drop the center section, you don't strike me as unobservant.

Mine runs perpetually between 13.5v and 13.8v. I thought you had a 140amp alternator on there?
nope, different car. This one was an alternator of unknown heritage and parentage.... it would flick to 13.5, but then hit the throttle and it'd drop to 13.1 ... and had a slight miss.
Where are you measuring from? It should be putting out 14+ at the alternator post. If you are measuring it at a gauge in the car, you need to start looking for drops in the wiring.
