  • ZING!! That was a good one!

I caught that in the original post.......am I stand by it.

I personally went through 2 brand-new lines on the left front of the yellow van - in addition to the original that collapsed, both of the new ones did likewise.

Granted that was 10 years ago, and not fancy high-zoot stainless stuff.

But my suspicions are up. I'm still peeved that it took me 3 attempts to cure it.....hence my strong suspicions....I owe the automotive gremlins one for that fiasco.

So if it ends up being the flexible line, we blame Bob?

          See, Bob is omnipotent

We mention Bob's name in a slanderous way (maybe even used it in vain) - and voila, Bob appears to smote and smite.

          • downer alert

4 years ago today my brother, the consummate Corvette guy, was killed in a car crash (don't text and drive folks)... I think it's time to see what kind of moving violation I can get in the C3 today

                  • car is fine.... sign that says "6'-8 clearance" may have a scrape or two. Who hangs a sign that says 6'8" clearance at 6'6"?!!!

                        • Jusr as long as your moving violation isnt texting and driving. That sucks losing your brother. Every single person who has hit me were on the phone.

                          Have fun, but be safe.

                          • I can't hear my phone over my Corvette

This this is just too fun to drive....

needs more hp, more supportive seats, console fixed, paint redone (or at least more buffing), oh yeah, and driver's door lock fixed so it actually locks (the ONLY thing I had someone else do, isn't right - ironic)....

in short, it's as done as it's ever going to be in my possession - too perfect means no driving it cause it'd get hurt

                            • okay.... anyone have any clever ways of getting brake lines to release from the proportioning valve? (brass/steel)

why is it - a 5 minute job could now easily be a day job of replacing all the steel brake lines?

                              f***

                              • okay Bob - I have a question for you... is there a better way of setting up brakes? As it looks like I'll be replacing lines - is there something I should do to update/upgrade the 40 year old brake lines on the car?

and for the record, I'm getting smarter in my old age - I realized lines were not turning with the 2 (of the 5) nuts (the other 3 started to strip under the brake line wrench).... so I tightened it back up and left it as a driver (albeit, not a good driver)
