though I might cave and go with power steering.... there's an issue in real life which may quickly make manual steering something I can no longer do.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

so parts started arriving... I hate the urethane nose, it's wavy and, despite being flexible, doesn't line up with the car... the plan is pretty ambitious.
Replace the headlights with HID lights, change the vacuum actuators to electric push/pull actuators, the replace the nose so that air comes through those front grills - then get rid of the bottom breathing by blocking the holes and putting a better spoiler under to keep air out from under the car. Part of the airflow plan involves removing the license plate and replacing it with a grill. Obviously the bumpers will be gone, saving me another 20 or so lbs.

as for the air under the car/bottom breather.
I'd look at the 81 car, and maybe keep it bottom breather with a bigger air foil to keep air from going under the car, other than to get to the radiator , and use the side gills in fenders to let the air from under the hood.. as the air going down car sides will help suck the air out of under hood..
look at nascar (I know many here hate the sport) but they gain tons of speed when they add tape to the nose "grills" I'd leave the vettes grill less cone as is.. and manage the air undercar to only get to the heat exchanger or around to the side.. as with the body style you'll never get the leading nose edge low enough to limit the air that gets from tip of nose to the beginning of the front tires anyways.. not without a cattle mover added to the nose cone..Last edited by NewEnglandRaceFan; December 11, 2013, 05:16 AM.

the side grills are open already as is the cowl vent
one of the reasons I'm doing it this way is aesthetics - I don't want an 80-81 nose, I want to keep the 75 nose, and put an air dam in the stock location to keep air out from under the car.Last edited by SuperBuickGuy; December 11, 2013, 08:03 AM.Doing it all wrong since 1966
