I was kinda bored and "test fitted" one of the 295/35-18 tires.. wow I hear mini tub and wide fenders LOL

I wanted to see how the tranny looks "in place" ;)

and here I cut the knuckles for 13" C5 brakes ;)

still have to wait for some more parts so I got all the interior & wiring out and test fitted the 59 bel air dash. still need a few more cuts & welds but you got the idea ;)

youre doing a helluva job with one of my least favorite GM body styles...your final rendering looks killer. cant wait to see this one done.

                  Nice work!

What year Cherokee is that steering shaft from? Why did you decide not to use the modified front spindles?

That is a ton of amazing work you have done already. Really like the 59 Chevy dash setup.

Here in southern California, a 79 Monte is worth about $500 in the condition you started with; and that is if it passed emissions testing. The low rider crowd are the only ones who spend time and money on that year of Monte. It's nice to see one get some major TLC. Way to give a different year/model some improvements.

93-98 will fit but you have to notch a little the steering column with a dremel. talked to Tobin @Kore3 and he said the blazer spindles got a better design for the C5 brake upgrade than the stock g-body spindles. the blazer has bolt on hub - the g-body you need to machine a stock rotor down to use it as a hub. there are a few shops you can buy custom g-body hubs but if you can find blazer spindles + hubs (only the 98+, 2-door, 2wd) it'll be a lot easier for the whole upgrade. with the blazer spindels the whole upgrade is like a bolt on - with the stock g-body spindle you need to do a lot of work (metal cuts, drill and tap)

oh my first plan for the Monte was to build a lowrider with hydraulics and stuff LOL but I changed my mind and everything and now I'm more into street-rods and pro-touring

The better brakes and spindles came on all 2wd Blazers 98-up, not just the 2 doors.

                                Makes them easier to find!

Look around the Speedway Motors site-they have a lot of good cheap chassis/suspension parts for G-bodies.
