Sort of on the limp end for this thread, but my Mom had probably the oddest stock Alpine ever. It was, I think, a '65 with the Rootes 4 cylinder (it was a Rootes Group car) with an AUTOMATIC. The dealer had ordered it for his wife. Don't know how odd these were, but I've never seen another. I think it was one of those cast-iron Bendix units, and shifted like it was in no hurry to get anywhere. At least it was red (Mom still won't drive anything else).
