Drove it to the shop for the vinyl top install yesterday.
It actually took about an hour and a half! Encountered farm machenery and a couple detours. No major problems and nothing fell off ;D
    Here are some pictures

Thank you all, The opinion of my 'peers' means more than a hundred people on the street.

Now that the heavy lifting is done, I can start some modifications ;D.
I will now start to find the parts I need to turn this into a proper 'BangShifter' ;). Need to locate an early 80's V8 Jeep bell housing so I can start the T5 swap. Going to try and save the cash to get a new trans, but if a good used World class t5 were available I may consider it and save a few bucks ;).
What's nice is that while I am locating this stuff, I CAN DRIVE THE CAR!
                Gonna be a fun summer!

                  good for you!

I wouldn't mess with the rear suspension just yet- I think it sits just fine - and I'm guessing with some miles the rear ride height will adjust a little.

It did on my '54 when I put new rear leafs and shocks in it.
