Just stoped in for a min. working out in my little shop with barely enough room for me and the car. Witch brings to my rant here. I went to a little car show/cruse in. Had a nice time met some good people and gots to see some fine cars. What got me was this dude there with a 68 AMX. The Star of the show or at least that was what he though. This guy didnt build it doesnt know the difference between a welding machine an a 9/16 wrench. What a JerK. Just wrote a check and put in the trailer and took it home. I see pics here of guys that have nice big shops and all the stuff ya could want an dream about. But none have looked down there nose at me or any one else on here. The guys working in the back yard painting with a rattle can, we have it all here. An all are free with info on how to do things. Its not about the money or what you have it is a love for automobile,s. All of them. At least my cars are not bough and kelp in a garage (With no tools Just cleaner to keep my trailer queen clean).I hope to catch this guy at the strip and see just how fat his pocket book is.But probley wont happen (Ya dont see trailer queens at da track).Dont get me wrong I do not b-gruge any one who has the nice big shops and more money than god. It just ruffel,s my feathers when these type come out and have the aldasity to portray them self,s as a car guy! And I know you have these type,s. But I,m just sayin. At least i,m rubbin and skining knuckles beggin and saving ever dollar I can just to buy a little primer or sandpaper or some part I need for my car. This is a feeling this guy will never know! It was a bad ass car but he does not deserve to own it!! Now with that being said. I dont have the check book to go buy me a trailer Queen. So I,m off out to my little po-dunk shop to BUILD my own.But it will not be a trailer Queen. One more thing even Jay Leno works on his stuff!!! Thanks for the Rave. Having a snickers bar and back at it. (LOL) Will post more pic,s soon

Its the check writers who believe they deserve entitlements based on the amount of money they spent on their car to allow them special treatment at shows. You should see their reaction when they dont win.

At the George Barris show a couple years back my friend entered his 67 chevelle that he rebuilt right in our driveway after crashing it. We used two engine hoists to lift the body off the bent frame. He just got it back together and running with a new engine and new paint before the show. It was not.show quality at all. He only had one wiper on the car. He won best chevelle beating out a pair of 65 chevelle convertibles that had at least $100,000 in each. You should've seen their owners reaction. They both filed complaints. Really. They were asked if they spent all that money just to get a $10 trophy and bragging rights. Yes! The judges talked to Carl and were impressed with his story about rebuilding his totalled car in an apartment driveway. I guess they werent so impressed by those guys stories of writing checks for theirs'.

I Know scott have seen it a few times. That was the best part he didnt get nothing. I love to see guys in da drive way and such. I dont have a big nice shop. Just one of those 600 dollar car ports that I have throwed a little concretedown and closed in best i could. I have friebds with the big nice shops and they laugh at me but it is in a good way. They always stop in some time to have a adult beverage or twelve and we tell lies and such. And will loan me any piece of equipment or tools that I need. But I do love to see the guys that work out of there carport or in the yard win over the money guys. It makes me very thankful for my little shop.To Have a little air and be in side on a rainy day. Oh how I do rember those days.

Ok Guys I did get a lot done today.Almost got one fender well ready to blast. Slow go but it is geting there. I got tired of all the scraping and pad sanding. So I took my rear spoiler off took a pic of it an made me a rendering (as the guys on overhaulin call it) I hope I get this up for U guys to see. I named my car Ace,s & Eights.I am throwing a few ideas around. This is just the spoiler but am think n to put it on I think it is called the "C" pillar behind the rear window.Any way I dont want to get to carried away.I put a evil looking skull on the C pillar of my son,s Camero it looks good and he likes it along with all his buddys. Just havent used my air brush in years am rusty to say the least. But I did pay da bills with it in the late 70, early 80,s doing custom vans and such when mural,s was the thing. I am leaning to the cards with the blood stains. But my wife likes the skull added to the cards. Not sure which one. Open for suggestions.LOL

Yea the more I look at it just the cards on the spoiler and leave it at that. Kinda want to stay on the sudle side. but then might get wild and crazy. The things ya think of while ya wait on the funds to start flowing LMAO.God I love this job. Not real good on the pay side but is a great stress releve.

I kinda like the skeleton holding cards. Totally reminds me of the named cars of the 70's. My friend had a 72 Camaro his uncle customized and called Mosquito III. It had a cartoon mosquito on the C pillar.

Built 6 derby cars in there, welding, drilling, grinding, painting and all that good stuff
One car went twice..first and second.. Driven by my son
One was second to the first car above.. Driven by my daughter
3 that were driven by my son...first
Last car built, driven by my son's buddy got 3rd... Only cuz he snapped his tranny in half.. Went again but got nowhere..

Shops are over-rated.. But boy would I kill for one...

Here is Tate laying out the Ace, & Eights. He has a lot more talent than ole dad. He wants to put a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz on his spoiler. Said then he could say "Don't make me get my flyin monkey" when his buddys got to talkin trash. I told him he better learn how to use that air brush. Could practice on my spoiler it has to be striped and reworked anyway.

Iworked on the fender. Not as good of shape as i had hoped but still not real bad.Nothing a little tig welding and body filler can't fix. Most of wat ya see here is old body work Ground thru in a few places on the edge of the wheel well will have to tig it up. Did get her to the bare metal Ran out of sand. So we gave the ole compresser a good work out with the D-A sander and 40 grit paper. Calling for rain tommarow will shoot a lite coat of primer to keep the rust grimlen,s away. Well going to clean up the shop and call it a day. Rest and get ready to go to work.

Here,s a couple of the fire wall. Not sure if I want to polish it or just go with a brushed look.. Just hung the fender to get it out of the way.I luv tie wraps.Got to get mama to make me some nice fender covers. No more lay n wrenches and such on them. But that is a good thing. They hang pretty good till I get back to them.At least out of da way & I get a little sneak peak to keep the fire going .
