Big Bird Pinto!! with a wookie driver :)

Big time fan thought I would throw up some pics of my 4 year project. That is with in sight of driving under its won power... whoo hoo

1977 ford pinto w/ 79-80 front clip 1978 tail lights, custom cowl induction hood...

huge 4" core air to air intercooler w/ 3" inlet/outlets tial wastegate and bov

Ford 2.3 with stinger header modified for a holset hy35 turbo, turbo joe fuel rail 90lb fast injectors, complete a1000 fuel system w/ sumped stock tank, gutted and rottated intakes and 65mm thottle body, ls2 coils, ems pro efi, c4 with trans brake, ford 8" with mini spool 3.50 gears for now... caltracs and split mono leafs

interiror is one big kirkey race seat to fit a wookie In a pinto, passenger seat is 65 mustang bucket, made a custom dash panel to cover up the last owners attempt to put guages in the dash, but Im now planning on using efi analytics Shadow dash software and a 7" tablet in the car.... so need to make a mount for that...

Hope to redo some of the engine bay wirring and finish the rest of the wirring to get it road worthy for spring, since we are still half frozen in minnesota..

That's awesome Chris, I'm definitely a Pinto fan. I had a 79 when I was teen as my DD, just some big stab bars, KYBs, and good wheels and tires for whipping around the turns. My older brother had a 76 V6 auto wagon that he had got from our grandfather. Sprayed the 2.8, when it woofed, it was time for the 302 swap, and it snowballed from there LOL.

Nice work on yours, it will be interesting to see what the track results are!

    cheers

I'd love to do a circuit racing Pinto with a killer turbo 2.3, that would be pure awesomeness!

I still wonder why you continue to be referred to by your nom de guerre - embrace who you are

really cool pinto - though I do wonder at the choice in cars as hair is pretty flammable too

HOLY GAWD THAT THING IS YELLLOW!!!!

had to be said. Now that I have that out of the way, your ride is really cool. Bob Holmes on here is currently going through a 2.3 turbo build and a Folvo head onto 2.3 build, so you guys should have plenty to talk about.

I passed on a Pinto a while back that I'm still kind of aggravated at myself for not buying and mothballing if nothing else.

Calling a Pinto Big Bird is not right. I think Tweety Bird is a more appropriate name.
