Yeah, but that distributor will have to go away. It wont clear the tunnel ram, so I'll probably put the Accel coil on my '69 Burb. It's been converted to HEI distributor.

About 10 years ago I think it was posted on Fordmuscle. This guy had a 69 MACH1 with a built 351w. He did a clutch dump at 7800 RPM with a stock cast iron flywheel and bellhousing. The guy was lucky to have his feet. Tore the block, bellhousing, trans, headers, frame, sheetmetal and a bunch of other stuff up pretty badly. I've looked for it recently but can't find it anyware.

Was that a cast or a steel flywheel? So the scatter sheild did not stop it? what good is it?

This is why I get the willies when I see guys standing at the side of an engine on the dyno while it's running. Most common failure is the driveshaft/coupler but other stuff does happen. Even a thrown belt can hurt you badly. If you have to be in the room stand in front of the engine.

Boy, when you guys get started on flywheels you really get going! I doubt a BBC 454 will see much time over 5,000 rpm's. But I'll take all these flywheel posts into consideration if we can move on now.
