If I was building this as a cruiser, I'd think hard about seeing if this would fit.

That looks like it could fit a lot of applications and is spiffy in the bargain. I like it!

first step toward the man pedal in the Galaxie

It's a column out of a '63 floor shift car. It looks like the support is different but length looks good.

Cool.. Should be the same.. If not, the one in the car should fit that one...

I've cut off the column auto shifter pivot and filled the hole with JB Weld followed by filler. This will be nicer for sure. Cool to see the project coming along.

I think the frame rails are too jacked up on a car for the CV front end.

First things first, if the frame rails are 34" apart, you have a good start.

Yeah I noticed the spring pockets are part of the stock frame. Boo.

After reading this thread, I'm confused. I know where a 390 out of a Fairlane 500 is setting I could get for scrap price, I thought that was around the right price range, next to free. I know shipping would cost a leg (guessing $300). I even know where some 427/428s are in an outbuilding waiting.

                          455 FE. Do it

                          Nice car btw

oof that picture looks cool. That must be what my friend Dave was talking about with the 2 x 4 setup. I really like that overflow/ radiator fill setup.

Yeah the frame on this won't work but I imagine the Crown setup would work on other cars, like converting a shock tower car over?? Probably too wide for a Mustang but there's bound to be others that could use it. Maybe a newer Galaxy/ Fairlane since they have single attach lower control arm like the early Mustangs.

My uncle lives in Independence KY and he's supposed to meet me for DragWeek again this year.

That sounds like a fairly easy solution to get rid of the shifter bump Dan...I'll file that away for future reference.

I was really careful with the JB Weld so that none of it got into the works inside the column. There's probably plenty of room but I sure didn't want to JB Weld stuff together that I would later wish was mobile.
