Here is a picture that raises a real question. Which holes are supposed to be in the floor/body/etc?? I have alot of these all over the place. Does anyone know of any restoration sources that docuement the holes that should be there? My plan at this point is to fill anything that is questionable.Last edited by 74NovaMan; March 28, 2014, 09:33 AM.Chris - HRPT Long Haul 03, 04, 05, 13, 14, 15,16 & 18

My body guy stopped out today. He is ready for the car as soon as I can get it to him. My job in the short term is to clean up all the bed liner material, finish scraping the underside and get it sand blasted. Once I get it blasted (I’m planning on farming that part out because it will take me 2 weeks) I’ll deliver it to him for epoxy primer and we’ll finalize the parts list. After he looked at the car thoroughly, I told him I was looking at 5-7k to cover getting it into paint after it is all cleaned up and he thought that that was definitely doable. He said that once he has it, things should move very quickly. My goal is to have it to him by September 14th.
Anyone know any good media blasters in the St. Paul / Minneapolis area?Chris - HRPT Long Haul 03, 04, 05, 13, 14, 15,16 & 18

When I was in body shop school (1966), that was how it was done. The stud welder hadn't been invented yet so the options were sheet metal screws and a slide hammer (still have that set-up) or drilling holes and pulling the metal with little hooks while tapping with hammer to get the fold to release. Stud guns work MUCH better!
The third choice, of course, was to replace the panel but that was less common back then - panels were expensive and insurance companies didn't want to pay for them.
So don't be TOO hard on the guy who did this.
