Over the last few month I have destroyed my car and am in the process of putting it all back together again. I decided I need to put a cage in the car since it has run under what it is teched for with the 302. Now I am going to put in the 347. Adding alot of weight might make it a mute point. Ordered a Maximum motorsports cage. This thing is built very very well I am super surprised at the build quality.

Not dying is GOOD!
I have a Max Motorsports cage in the 'Stang and it's a nice piece. I did one mod where I came off of the shoulder belt mount and over to the main hoop but the convert shoulder belt mount is only a couple of inches from the hoop. Anyhow, it was easy for me on my car and might work for yours, too. Depending on how you count, it adds 2 more points to the cage so mine is more or less an 8-point. I test fit it then took it to the powdercoaters and reinstalled it. That worked out nicely. I don't know if that will allow NHRA to inspect the cage as I understand that they sometimes check for tube thickness. Might be worthwhile to ask before you spend on the coating.

Not sure about not dying. I mean, have you ever heard someone complain after doing so?
Dead nuts right on the cage thickness though. Contact the local track and see if they have chassis days prior to race season, and if you can bend the ear of an inspector. Once you've got a cert sticker, tech gets rather easier! Even if it's a local, 'small' track, the inspection can change dramatically and quickly. A death last year at my home track meant that the track got very, very serious about inspection, and I understand a fair number of people didn't make it past the tech booth until word got out about the new strictness. Hell, they actually checked my helmet for dates and such--which hadn't happened in the previous ~10 years!
I wound up giving the tech guys some tips on checking bikes for the stuff that I see frequently that's clearly outside the rules. A few weeks later, while in staging, I overheard a group of young guys complaining that their way of doing stuff no longer passed tech... Didn't feel bad, as the rules are often not for the safety of the driver/rider, but for the safety of emergency personnel. For example, often times guys will plug their tether switch into the sidestand harness--this would be okay, but if the bike goes into a neutral before the rider falls off, the motor will not be turned off. Doesn't seem like a bad thing as the only thing it'll destroy is the engine (no oil when they're laying on their side), but a running engine means there's still spark available and a reasonable chance of spilled fuel in the area. No good! So I feel better knowing more riders are safe at my track.
(Plus, at least one of the EMT's is cute, and I needed her services a few months later, so I'm glad to help keep them safe!)

No cert necessary for a 6pt bar so he can run under 11.50 legally. 6pt is good to run 10.0000.
9.99-8.50 requires an 8pt cage and it does need to be cert'ed.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Been working on the car. Just am horrible about updating my thread and taking pics. This is a pic I took last night mocked up to see kinda what everything is going to look like and fit together. What needs to move and find a new home etc.
Kinda a mess right now but I am excited it is starting to come together.

Looking good, did you just from N2O carb to EFI turbo? What are you controlling it with?
