      • Jim - is there another type of fuel pump you could try that might be quieter? Maybe the pump in the car has some sort of issue?

you make me feel like a 3 toed sloth by the way - I have to remind myself that you're "retired"

        • The pump is staying, if the change in fuel line doesn't help then I'll just live with it. Can't really hear it on the highway now..only at slower speeds. The 55 has a separate frame, the pump on it is the same one, mounted to the frame, the fuel line runs along the frame. It's noticeable at idle (with the blower), and driving around town without the blower. Been that way for a long time and a lot of miles, it's not a real big deal.

About half way done sanding the body...paint tomorrow morning, probably, if I can keep going.

          • Would cutting a rubber hose along the length and raping around the hard line. Cut down on the sound?

                      • First peek. I ended up putting the first two coats of paint on a bit thick, and didn't have enough for a third coat, but it looks ok. The paint is a little rough in places, but the bodywork is acceptably straight. It is just an old race car....

best thing about it being a race car is that the paint doesnt have to be perfect. because racecar lol
