  • yeah, but it's still running. I went for a drive tonight to see how the 3.50 gears work. I think I can live with it. close to 3 grand at 75, cruises nice at 65-70.

    • Am I reading that right? You sent 2 quarts in for testing?

      • No. I sent in 4 ounces. The two quarts make up means I added two quarts between the time I changed the oil, and when I took the sample.

        • Gives a reference of how much "fresh oil dilution" there is in the sample.
          Escaped on a technicality.

          • considering that the motor is supercharged, and cruising rpm's higher than most... I'd call that very acceptable.. depending on how fine the particulate was from the blower, I would not be surprised to see metallic in the oil sample...

            • Isn't an "upgrade" teftlon strips on the blower rotors to combat the slivering problem?
              If it is a problem...

              • No, the teflon strips are to seal it. The bearings hold the rotors away from the case when things are working right. When things go wrong, then we get to fix it. I've put over 100k miles on this blower without it having problems...the problems started after I overhauled it.

                • Wondering why you are having problems. Kinda strange to have problems for just overhauling

                  • I also changed the intake manifold...I think there were three or four things that I did wrong that caused it to fail. All better, now.

                      Quite the opposite..
Glad it is all A-ok now.

Don't see why... Guess they become more frequent when the age nbrs start to roll past the 5-0 stage...

Thanks for the info. Good to know. What does a test like this cost? If you don't mind me asking.
