But your used to winning . No point in carrying all the extra weight .

    • I'm thinking of building something that won't have a chance of winning. But it would be a lot of fun.

      • oh...back on topic...I dropped my old switch pitch torque converter off at my son's house a week ago, he finally brought it to Hughes today, they said it's kind of toast inside. but they have the parts to fix it, so they'll do that. I should have it back in a couple weeks, then I can pull the transmission and see what's wrong with second gear.

        • I fixed the transmission a week ago, new second gear clutches, sprag, and a 4L80E direct drum. Seems to work ok.

Also a momentous night...finally took my wife for a ride in the car.

          • How does the 4l80e drum differ? Or is it an availability thing?

            • The outer sprag race is a little wider, to accommodate the 4 plate clutch, and the drum is machined differently to accept the wider race.

              • Was it the new seats that convinced her to go for a ride??

                • They helped. And, that was part of my plan in getting those ones....

                        • Thanks, we're doing fine. Adjusting to her being retired is not that difficult.

                          • Just watched you go 10.81 @ 131 at Great Lakes . Did you have a problem on the return road ?

ME and I have hit a slightly different stride but we've adjusted pretty easily, too.
