      • That I can drive the car out to George Ray's next week, bolt the blower back on, and race at Brian's thing. Then perhaps pull the blower back off for the drive home.

Just to see how different it is.I've already made several long drives with the blower. It gets 10 mpg, and things wear out.

        • What rpm does it run on the highway? Changing gears for the ride might help mpg

          • I put a GV in it several years ago, it has 3.89 gears that drop to about 3.0 when I push the magic button.

            • I wonder if putting a low 3, high 2 gear. Would help mpg?

              • I've run 2.50 gears in car, it likes 3.0 better. So it's pretty much perfect right now. Also I've run 3.70 and 4.11 gears, and 3.89 is optimum for racing.

the car seems to be setup fairly well... im guessing at least a
low 12/high 11 with the single if you get it all worked out
a net a clean pass from start to finish.

i mean, it IS a 427 in a lil old chevy II............

                            • Wow. As usual Squirrel knows all. I didn't know the Shaker Hot Wheels exists. It is going for $20-$30 because it is our of print. Here is the timeline:

"AWB" stands for "Altered WheelBase", a style of drag racing car popular before the invention of the Funny Car. The original release was modeled after a tribute car called the Wilshire Shaker. The '63 Nova AWB has come out in the following 1/64 scale versions:

Quite obviously somebody saw Plan II in Hot Rod and said "Oh Boy we can get another run out of that casting". But you're an easy going guy.
