best I ever did with the 55 with those gears was 13. The 55 had less cam, more cubes, slightly richer carbs, more weight. It'll be interesting to see what happens.My fabulous web page

Got 10 mpg when I filled up in Tucson, after driving on the freeway 70 miles, and around town another 20. I guess it's better than 7.My fabulous web page

hard to say, the exhaust note is not very consistent...the glass packs rap a lot, it doesn't really have the throaty roar that lets you tell when it's working. I did notice that I barely push the throttle when driving on the highway.
Mufflers might be my next project. Thinking about something like this...

Kinda surprised only 3 better... .. Efficency rpms for BBC the same for SBC? 1750 rpms, I think? .. In the 70's they were saying you wanted around 1750 rpms for maximum effeciency.. More or less hurt mileage, of course that is out the door the way you have this motor built? ..
