Reading my mind dudes! I spied a 57 Silver Hawk here in town for sale with a boring 350/350 combo in it and was thinking 3800/4L60E out of an F-body but 4.6L Northstar or 4.4L LC3 would be amazing cool.
Other oddball alternatives 4.0/4.2L SC Jag V8 or Aluminum Buick/Rover V8.
Nowadays when folks say Caddy power, CTS V comes to mind ;)

Ahh knurling - the budget machine shop method to avoid the cost of an overbore and new pistons......

Dave has torches and presses, and he's well skilled in thier operation... those pistons don't have a chance against him.... especially if he's not concerned with reusing the block....

I wonder how this thing would fit on an econoline chassis.... just happen to have one of those laying around! :o ;D

I don't think I have ever said this on the thread, but the 289 was rebuilt some time in the 1960's.

The pistons have knurling on the skirts and below the rings. I think that's why the rust is locked to tight. The knurling.

I'm not afraid of a stuck piston...bring it on.

I usually try to do what I want, but I need people to stop me from doing really stupid stuff.

Hey Brian, don't let Dave off the hook for getting those pistons out! I want to see at least one of these: 1) Pistons removed, 2) Broken pistons, 3) Broken block ???
