  • Rusty enough for a sticker??????

SO i read somewhere that only Cool cars get sticker. By cool I'm refering to patina'd out oldies. Some of you guys have rides that definetly are not rusty ( so do you guys get them) anyway I remeber reading somewhere that only the rough get em. I assume we use chad's rusty as control for this exercise.

So here one of mine, Nothing to special, no crazy mods, just an old truck in all it's used up glory.
She does run, well i might add. Reads 89,000 (don't know if or how many times thats rolled over) 3 speed.
I was going to put her in the violation game, but that implies that i did something. I've just kept her alive, after purchase and tires. I might have 150$ in her. Had it for three yrs.

    Thanks, hope you enjoy.
    Chris.

P.S. Yes, it's safe enough for my little girl to ride in, hence the child seat, she loves it.

Even a $150 truck deserves an oil cap instead of a rag - or - is that a built in crank case breather system?

i think it's great - why spend a bundle on a fancy new truck - when old ones have the same utility -and sometimes more? I consider my truck new -- '97 with 144k.

I hear ya man, I had to listen to a women that worked for the state recently, b!tching cause her 02 cherokee (work truck) had 120,000 on it. In my mind i was like " thats still breakin in".
To be honest i don't really trust a car till i put 70,000 on it.Then i'll grow an unhealthy trust and spend more than it's worth keeping it. Saying " well it's been a good car i'll keep it running"

It does deserve a oil cap, I knew one of you guys would see that, Absent minded could be the only excuse, i live out in the country so by the time i'm thinking about that stuff i'm 20 min. away from everything, didn't matter so much when gas was 1.50. I don't own anything that gets over 20 mpg.

        Thanks

Time for an escort wagon or the like- great mileage cheap and easy to keep on the road.

that truck is cool - that drag car in your signature is flat out wicked.

Hell, that ain't rusty...well, the cab rockers are toast, but it ain't that bad.

Run a garden hose on the cab floor, a little Windex and paper towels......wouldn't bother washing the exterior. The exterior funk gives it what I like to call "character"

Now, RUSTY would describe my late 1985 GMC Sierra Classic "Heavy Half"......looked like hell, but never once failed to start.

Sold it to a guy, was rear-ended a month later.....I'll have to look and see if I ever took pics of it or not.

Thanks joe, Yeah i love it, and na why would i wash it.

Old trucks are great you ca do anything you want with them. I will say that the 74 c 10 the guys just built for the LSX Shootout was great, up close in person its a very clean piece, considering that mine is only one year older than it. Mine is definitely rusty by comparison.
